Died earlier tonight at 90. RIP Yogi. Just saw that...Sharon gave me that quizzical look when they started talking about 'Yogisms' and the first thing that popped was "It ain't over till its over." RIP Yogi, & thanks for the memories.

RIP Yogi, & thanks for the memories. Guess it's over now. Goodbye Yogi, one of the few Yankee legends that I really did like.

He certainly lived a full life and left all of us with some great memories. 10 championships, too. Crazy. RIP Yogi.

Died earlier tonight at 90. RIP Yogi. RIP Yogi. The man of many priceless quotes but this one always tickled me. "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."Hopefully he's wrong on this one, and if there is a hereafter, many are coming to welcome him as a catcher for the higher angles ball park. “You should always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise, they won’t come to yours.”

Yeah, he was a hell of a player. Will give you another story...1964 was his first season managing the Yankees. They lost the World Series to the Cardinals 4-3. Berra was fired and replaced by Johnny Keane, the guy who was the Cardinals manager. Weird, huh?

Weird, huh? i remembered him managing the mets, and being a bench coach for the yankees (80s?) and then a manager again for a short time in the steinbrenner era. but i had no clue he'd managed in '64, which i think was the year after he retired as a player. that is bizarre.

In 1965, he became a player coach for the Mets. Didn't last long, though. Warren Spahn was on that team as well. For a while, the manager was Casey Stengel until he fell off of a bar stool one night and broke his hip. That was the end of Casey's managing career.
