On the bright side, we won't need to play the Tigers make up game... yeah, the tribe officially got knocked out last night, as the astros won in seattle while cleveland split the doubleheader w/the twins. lost the opener 7-1, won the nightcap 10-2. 2 mid season call ups continued their impressive run. cody anderson, who my dad and i saw up at progressive field in his first major league start, got the win to go 7-3 for the season, with 7 shutout innings on just 2 hits. 3.05 era. and that's as the #5 starter on the staff. very encouraging. and francisco lindor has been hot for nearly 3 months now. he went 4-8 in the 2 games w/his 12th hr. 51 rbi's, all in half a season. leading the team in hitting at .323. 78-79 w/4 games left. would be nice to see them finish above .500. |

...those words are no longer attached to anything with "good" involved... but equally alliterate! lol. hitting wasn't the only issue starting out the season... we were horrendous in the field. especially the left side. when chisenhall got sent down, urshela was an upgrade defensively at 3rd (and consequently chisenhall moved to the of and may have saved his career in cleveland), and lindor was a huge step up at ss. so the field pct after july was much improved. getting rid of the two highest paid players who were batting .200 and .230, respectively, at mid-season gave the clubhouse a jolt of energy too. like we said earlier, need another bat w/some power pop, but i like the make up of the squad heading into '16. |
