As much as I love the holidays, baking, cooking and enjoying family time, I dislike the pounds that I put on..
Not much different than the way every winter has been for the past 15 years. Lasagna Prime rib dinners Tuna casserole's Stuffed pork chops with gravy and mashed potato's Baked Mac n cheese with extra cheese Chili Pot Roast, you name it!
Needless to say, we all do this every winter and then comes spring, we work our butts off to hopefully lose it and become normal.
So I am hoping that maybe going to the gym again and working out for a good hour every other day to start will be the first step.
I'm going to attempt ( I never make a promise I may not be able to keep, same as betting), to cut out carbs and sugar until I reach my goal weight again.
For the record, quitting smoking is easier than dieting. At least I don't need cigarettes to keep me alive and they never tasted as good as food!
And no way in hell am I going to try as dangerous a diet as Lee. Diet - >>> Do I Eat This?? I'm going to work on changing my lifestyle, because in my mind, diets don't work.. They are a temporary means to feeling good and then going back to what you were before.
Just my POV.
So, how was your holiday?

I had gained a little weight while staying at my son's.....his Peruvian wife typically serves a meat, rice and potatoes (but NO veggies) at most dinners. This is common Peruvian dietary habits, but not mine. My weight is on the way back down now that I'm home and eating normally again. I'm not "fat" by any means, but I hate the extra pounds when I do put a few on.
All that said...had great holidays with my family......and finally found time to go fishing!

Between all the baked goods, candies (chocolate!) and extravagant meals I think I've done pretty darn good walking a minimum of 3 miles a day. I only gained a couple of pounds. Fred got me one of those FitBits wristband thingies for Christmas and it's got me more interested in the numbers. Of course, no matter how skinny I get Fred always like to pop off his favorite saying "Hit the treadmill fatty!" (although the cast iron skillet upside his head has tamed his frequency a bit...)

Fatty? I wonder where I have heard those words before.. Have you been talking to someone lately?

Then make him run a few miles on the treadmill while wearing a large black trash bag. Finally, make him soak in a bath of Epsom salts, baking soda and lavender. Give him a nice massage, kiss him good night, and then fall asleep.
