VT did not perform very well, yet still managed to finish in 4th and take home some hardware. This is both VT's and the ACC's highest finish ever, and something to be proud of. Better yet, Tech edged out traditional wrestling power Iowa, led by former VT head coach "Benedict Arnold" Brands, to get a measure of personal revenge for the way he left Tech 4 years ago. PSU's finish was particularly impressive, beating every other team by a wide margin, led by Jerry Sandusky in the 13-and-under class. congrats to psu on a strong tournament. just watched a replay of snyder's heavyweight match (was at a wedding reception saturday night)... even knowing the outcome that was a tense, dramatic contest. And this year, they didn't have to juggle the docket to save the best story for last. Good stuff... (may lead to drawing a few more fans, which is always good as well)
