A lot of people don't like Jim Boeheim, but, IMO, the guy is a basketball coaching genius.
Impressive run for 10th seeded Syracuse!

NCAA violations and punishment Main article: Syracuse University athletics scandal On March 6, 2015, the NCAA suspended Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim for the first nine ACC games of the 2015–16 season and took away 12 scholarships over a four-year period, as a result of a multi-year investigation into the university's athletic programs. The program was forced to vacate a total of 108 wins from the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006–2007, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012. Any game during those years where one or more of the players deemed to have been ineligible played. This constitutes the second-most wins ever permanently vacated by one program, behind the 113 wins vacated by Michigan.
Upon two separate appeals, Boeheim's nine-game suspension was upheld as was the permanent vacating and erasure of 108 wins. However, the number of scholarships lost by Syracuse was reduced to 8 over a four-year period, down from 12 over the same period.
Lucky for Jim and the Syracuse athletic budget that the NCAA didn't include a tourney ban in that punishment. Does Boeheim have any shame? Five consecutive years of cheating. Does anyone believe he's really stopped cheating?

As I recall, Syracuse was a controversial pick as a #10 seed in the NCAA tournament this month.
To come back from a 16 point deficit in the second half against #1 seed Virginia is beyond impressive.
I'm guessing that the Tarheels will finally demolish the Big Orange next weekend, but who knows?

'cuse finished in a tie for 9th in the acc this year. yeah, you could certainly argue they didn't belong this year, but once you're in the tournament everything starts anew at 0-0. uva looked like they'd never seen a press before in the 2nd half.
