[snap infraction]

got married over the weekend!  everything was perfect in every way.  the highly paid vendors all came through even though the band ignored most of my song recommendations (they played no michael jackson which wasn't cool).  planning a wedding is very difficult but ours worked out as really well (besides the brides mother fainting during the ceremony, but that is a separate story)

my bro in law, who went to michigan, gave a speech during the party about how i was celebrating and yelling like a little girl when michigan state beat michigan on the blocked punt this year.  he exaggerated the story.  the truth is that i went outside immediately after the play and started laughing hysterically b/c i didn't want his family to see my reaction.  there were many ways he could have criticized penn state and i'm glad he didn't go there.

 now that i am a married person, i get tax benefits (very small based on my initial calculation) and a foreign feeling object on my ring finger.  other than that, things should now go back to normal except for all the people taking bets as to when we have children.

congrats. i hope your mother in law fainting during the ceremony was a one time thing, and doesn't continue every time you enter a room wth her. funny you bring up um-msu... i was at a wedding reception that saturday north of detroit, where we needed to set up a tv and a web connection to show the game (i had to miss osu-psu for the first time, in either stadium, since '01, but that's another story). there were an equal number of wolverine and sparty fans crowded around the tv near the bar. so many, that i moved off to the side and picked up the feed on my smart phone, which for some reason was 20-30 seconds faster than the connection going thru the tv. when the blocked punt happened, i jumped up and started yelling, continuing my yelling thru the end of the play (scaring my young grandson i found out later). i got a lot of strange looks until they saw why i was yelling a few seconds later.

one other thing. that foreign object on your finger does feel weird, but it's not long til it feels weird if it's not there. much happiness to you and your new bride.

mother just starved herself all day and was so overwhelmed by the moment that she couldn't stand anymore.  she was immediately seated and was fine after having some food and drinks.  no one watched me break the glass with my foot b/c everyone was focused on her.  was a very weird and slightly scary moment.  

knowing your audience when watching sports is very key.  but sometimes it is hard to control yourself.
