there's one document which says a guy accused sandusky of abusing him, back in '76 at a football camp. he was 14 at the time, and he says he told paterno about it, but the coach brushed him off. the victim's quote in the testimony... 'is it accurate that coach paterno quickly said to you, 'i don't want to hear about any of that kind of stuff. i have a football season to worry about.' (question from victim's lawyer in 2014). 'specifically, yes. i was shocked. disappointed. offended. i was insulted. i said, is that all you're going to do? you're not going to do anything else?' paterno, according to the man's testimony, just walked away.
another victim says that a 2nd assistant coach, joe sarra, saw sandusky with his hands down the victim's shorts in 1987 when he was 13 yrs old. they were alone in a coaches' meeting room. sarra walked in, was started, and immediately left the room and closed the door behind him. the victim says sandusky then immediately kissed the boy on his forehead. sarra was w/paterno at psu for 21 years as either a coach or administrator. he died at age 75 4 years ago.
a 3rd victim says another assistant, kevin o'dea, worked at psu in the late 80's as a weight room assistant. this victim says o'dea walked into a room and came upon the boy lying on a black leather couch, in just his underwear, w/sandusky seated on the floor rubbing the boy's back. o'dea didn't say anything when he was it.
there's yet another case where another victim reported abuse to psu athletic director jim tarman in '88, and another in '98 where the mother of yet another victim filed a report w/the psu police dept, which was investigated and dropped w/no charges filed by the district attorney. psu has settled w/32 alleged victims.
pretty damning stuff.

If true, that is very damning. And, it wouldn't be surprising that coaches knew and looked the other way..."what you see here, what you hear here, let it stay here when you leave here." That is how it works, and a low level assistant who turned Sandusky in back in the day would never get another job. Will be interesting as to what Schiano and Bradley say moving forward. If they confirm the story, they look like jerks. If they deny the story, they look like Sandusky allies.

schiano already denied witnessing any abuse. but mcqueary is under oath as saying otherwise. wonder how ohio state responses now that one of their own is attached to this terrible scandal.

from a pure football sense, obviously that brings the potential of a huge distraction. i'm curious as to what meyer/osu's public stance will be. but to say that's more damning than one of the victims saying he told paterno directly and got the brush off? well, let's just say the bottom line is that there's nothing in this report that makes psu as an institution or the individuals within the football program/athletic dept look good.

the best part is reading other ohio state fans justify shiano. here are some exact quotes from another message board and let me know if any of these arguments sound at all familiar: "Is it possible McQueary isn't remembering things exactly as they happened?" "it's just one persons testimony based on a story told to him by someone else about a previous incident. Which is hardly the end all be all of the story. " " If the testimony about Schiano's knowledge is true, then I will be the first to grab my pitchfork, but we should withhold judgment until the facts unfold about Schiano's accused involvement, which, to my knowledge, has zero supporting evidence to this point." "McQueary could've misremembered part of his conversation with Bradley or, over time, combined two stories into one, and Schiano's name could've gotten mixed into it. I'm not defending anyone, but it's not fair to Schiano to assume this is true. No one is assuming it's false, either."
