A game that has been ignored this weekend is the Jaguars win over Mississippi State. The Jags were to be the sacrificial lamb for Mullen's Bulldogs. But South Alabama dominated the game with a solid passing game and controlled the clock with a 13 1/2 minute advantage in time of possession. Mullen seems to have reached his peak with Missy State. Recruiting is not easy and Mullen hasn't had a good record in bringing in top players. My buddy that played at Missy State in the '60s tells me the boosters are not happy.

That was to be expected after losing Dak Prescott to the Dallas Cowboys. The bulldogs blew a 17-0 halftime lead. Mullen gives MSU back to back good seasons and MSU's first #1 ranking and the boosters aren't happy? I'd say those boosters are silly to the extreme based on MSU's history compared to what Dan Mullen has delivered. Mullen must be a good coach since he has been winning even though he can't attract top players to that hell hole that is Starkville, Mississippi. Other than that, congrats to the Jags for winning a huge game for them.

edit: except playing Missy State.
