Thursday Pittsburgh
I did not even realize their was a Friday game until now. Yuck but if I can still pick,, than it would be South Florida - I have got to stop watching Fox news and Food network. I keep getting sidetracked!
I guess getting up at 4:30am and not sleeping more than 6 hours exhausted me.

THURSDAY GAME: Virginia Tech -3 1/2 @ Pitt: the hokies beat unc 34-3. unc beat pitt 37-36. so naturally, using willie's theory of cfb, va tech should beat the panthers by 4 td's plus in this showdown for the acc coastal lead. well, pitt has covered 8 of the last 9 in this series, including the last 5 in pa... all of them as a dog. hokies are 4-12 ats the last 5 years giving points on the road, 2-9 ats off a win of 14+. btw, since '80 (nerd cfb stat alert) home dogs off a bye (who won the previous week) vs league foes off a su/ats win, are 55-23-1 ats. good enough for me. pittsburgh. winFRIDAY GAME: Navy +6 1/2 @ South Florida: the middies keep getting points from vegas, and they just keep winning. i sure didn't learn that lesson last week going against navy, who beat memphis 42-28. usna is averaging around 295/game on the ground. last week usf gave up 319 rush yds to temple. last year navy ran for 428 on the bulls. usf's qb and 2 top wr's are banged up, they're 1-10 ats as chalk vs .500+ foes, middies 8-4 ats as road dogs and 10-1 su since joining the aac. navy. loss, tho i got navy +8 earlier in the week and covered.SATURDAY GAMES: West Virginia -3 1/2 @ Oklahoma State: wvu off 2 impressive wins. now on the road to stillwater vs a okie state team who beat them 33-26 a year ago. 'eers a rare big 12 team who seems to have a quality d, something the cowboys do not have. wvu has not been a good road fave lately (5-9 ats since '12). osu just 2-5 ats getting pts at home. but there are 4 different cfb nerd stats that say play the home dog in this role vs an undefeated favorite, including this one; teams getting 3+ at home off scoring 38+ in their last 3 games are 26-5 ats since '80. upset alert. oklahoma state. winMichigan -24 1/2 @ Michigan State: this line started at 20.5 and shot up w/so much $$ on the ugly hats, who have beaten sparty just once since '07, and blew the game in unbelievable fashion last yr on a blocked punt. the question this yr is whether um will even face a 4th down vs a struggling msu d. dantonio's team has lost 5 straight, all as favorites. in my stats which go back to the late 80's, and 2 line services which go back to '80, no team has ever done that before in major cfb over that time frame. amazing. um is just 2-8 on the road w/revenge vs a team off a loss, and 24+ is a ton to give on the road. but... the last time um was ranked and msu entered this game w/a losing record (2002), the wolverines won 42-3. history repeats itself tomorrow. michigan. lossMiami -2 @ Notre Dame: we've come a long way from catholics vs convicts, eh? canes have dropped 3 straight, nd 4 of their last 5. miami's d is ridden w/injuries, the irish d has stepped up the last couple weeks. i'm flipping a coin... notre dame. winNorthwestern +26 1/2 @ Ohio State: another game where the line shot up from where it opened (tosu -21). the natural thought is that the bucks will bounce back w/a vengeance after the psu upset. but... nw is 12-7 ats as road dogs since '12, tosu just 4-7 ats lately as home chalk. they are 16-1-1 ats after playing the nitts, 11-4 ats off a loss the last 15 times that's happened, but 1-5 ats giving 21+ to big 10 opponents. wildcats haven't won at ohio stadium since 1971, and that's not going to change tomorrow, but 4 td's w/the huskers on the horizon is too much to give imho. northwestern win. tosu has lots of work to doFlorida -7 1/2 v. Georgia: world's largest outdoor cocktail party. there, i've said it. so you know w/all those juiced fans you'll see some shots across the bow from gunners who might really be cousins. the worst of them a major asshole. what's his name? that is his name. major asshole. his cousin? he's an asshole too, first class phil asshole. how many assholes will be in jacksonville? (all fans will stand up.... 'yo!!!') kirby smart and jim mcelwain know... they'll be surrounded by assholes. gators have won the last 2, uga the 3 before that. uf controls their destiny in the east, the dawgs trying to be spoilers. gator qb del rio played well 2 weeks ago vs mizzou, but mizzou lost to mid. tenn st last week, too. bulldogs have been horrible (1-10 ats) off bye weeks lately, but florida is just 1-6 ats after scoring 40+. i think this stays close to the end. georgia. lossWashington -10 @ Utah: except for one ot win at arizona, the huskies have been the hot knife thru the pac 12 butter. but uw is just 3-13 ats away from home w/revenge (utes won 34-23 in seattle last yr) while utah is 6-1-1 ats getting 7+ at home, 12-3 ats as 10+ dogs. utah. winNebraska +9 @ Wisconsin: tough 4 game stretch for the badgers; michigan, buckeyes, iowa and now unl. the last 7 times uw has been more than a td favorite at home vs a big 10 opponent they've only covered twice. hm. huskers have revenge from a 23-21 loss last yr. unl is 8-1-1 ats as road dogs. plus wisconsin's outstanding d is missing its leader, ciccy, which i think will matter. nebraska. winAuburn -4 1/2 @ Ole Miss: rebels a disappointing 3-4. but they are 6-1 ats as home dogs, 6-1 ats as dogs off a loss. tigers have won 4 in a row, but this amazingly is just their 2nd road game of the season. normally i'd love the dog in this role, but war eagle has been real good on d, real good running the ball, and ol' miss's run d has been porous. auburn. winClemson -4 1/2 @ Florida State: tigers enter tallahassee off a bye week. visitor in this series has covered 4 straight. clemson is just 2-8 ats tho after playing nc state. noles also off a bye, after 2 shaky wins over the canes and wake forest. 1st home dog role for fsu since 2011, and home dogs w/revenge off a bye off a win (see pitt vs va tech above) has been a profitable scenario. florida state. winBoise State -13 1/2 @ Wyoming: first of all, let's be frank. we all know west coast football sucks. but it's clear that boise state has been a lone star of consistent success. but this one is actually between the co-leaders of the mwc mountain division. cowboys are a surprising 5-2, obviously the effects the altitude. lol. cowboys are 7-1 ats off back/back wins vs mwc foes, but 1-7 ats off scoring 35+. broncos are 15-9 ats as road faves. boise state. loss. damn wyoming altitude8-4. that's more like it.
