11.27.2017 AP & Coaches Rankings: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankingsFlorida (6), Kentucky (7), and Texas A&M (10) in the top 10 plus Alabama (25) ranked in the Week 4 polls. Arkansas and Georgia received votes. The piggies should be ranked and the bulldogs could end up ranked too. This is going to be a good year for the SEC in men's college basketball.

12.4.2017 - AP & Coaches Rankings Agree On Top 6: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings1. Duke 2. Kansas 3. Michigan State 4. Villanova 5. Florida 6. Witchita State Florida took Gonzaga in double OT. I'd have the Bulldogs in the top 10. I'm not sure they aren't better than last year when they lost to North Carolina in the Final. They have size, depth, athleticism, and a future Hall of Fame coach in Mark Few.

1.15.2018 www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankingsVillanova isn't a surprise, but Virginia at 2 and Purdue at 3 are surprises nationally and in conference. Ohio State after starting slowly has put lightening in a bottle and are now ranked and unbeaten in conference play. The bucknuts and Purdue are as big of surprises to share the lead in the BIG at 7-0 as Michigan State is a surprise to lose two in BIG play while being spanked by the bucknuts by 16 points. It's going to be interesting to see how the more than normal top heavy BIG plays out. Florida can step back into the top 25 with a win at UK on Saturday night. UF has a shooters chance of winning. Look for a UF upset if the Gators shots are falling. UF is still down 3 players to injury/sickness, but has enough depth to get the job done. The Gators could use C John Egbunu, but he isn't expected to be ready this weekend even though he is back practicing with the team. UF leads the SEC by 1/2 game and can really help their SEC season chances with an upset win at Rupp. After blowing a 14 point second half lead in a loss at USC, expect the Wildcats to be highly motivated to get back in the win column of SEC play. A home loss could send this years crop of UK freshmen into a tailspin. It is exceedingly difficult to win in Lexington with 24,000 people booing you down and cheering on the home team while the SEC refs make the normal Rupp home calls. Look for the Wildcats to win a close game. EDIT: The Gators won 66-64 at Rupp in a game they shot badly in - the shots weren't falling. The refs called the most fair game I've ever seen which is the only reason UF stayed in the game with a chance at the win. It wasn't pretty, but the Gators found a way to overcome and leave Lexington a winner.

1.22.2018 www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankingsThe top 3 remained unchanged, Villanova/Virginia/Purdue. Duke moved from 5 to 4 in both polls. Saint Mary's rightfully entered the polls after their upset of Gonzaga on the road. I'd have put the Gails in front of the bulldogs. Florida is back in the rankings at 20 in the AP & 22 in the Coaches. The Gators beat Arkansas by 15 and then upset Kentucky in Lexington by 2.

They would be higher had they not lost at home to St. Mary's. The bulldogs returned the favor last weekend. I don't get Purdue either. The are big, but they are slow. Tennessee went to Purdue in December and came home with a win JMHO, tOSU isn't getting the respect they deserve for the hot streak they are on. Michigan State is another top team I don't get. They are a powerful team, but they have trouble with their outside shooting. Virginia is excellent defensively, but not so good offensively putting up points. UF has faced UVA teams like this in the NCAA tourney and pounded them both times. This is a season that can go to the team that gets hot at the right time. I like Villanova a lot. They are fast and have shooters all over the floor, hard to defend. Gonzaga is another team that could really show up in the NCAA tourney too.

Couldn't stay with them then, highly doubt they could stay with them now. and the game wasn't as close as it looks.........

Exactly. The committee released their top 16 seeds last week and it was completely mental. Duke was a 2 seed despite losing 2 games that week. Purdue was still a 1 seed despite losing to OSU and Michigan St. Michigan St was a 3 seed yet ranked #2 in the country
