not a bad schedule that OSU played #2 .....W * #7.......L * #8.......W * #9.......L * #13 x 2...W/L* #18......L * ( * road game) To show you how frustrating UF is, the Gators are 4-2 against the top 25 and that's with blowing a big lead against Duke. Playing stall ball and blowing big leads has plagued UF all season: 3/5 Duke - Lost - Neutral 7 Gonzaga - Won - Neutral 10 Cincinnati - Won - Neutral 14/15 Auburn - Won - Home 16/17 Tennessee - Lost - Away 23/25 Kentucky - Won - Away Total: 4-2 against current top 25 The Gators are leading over bama 37-18 in Tuscaloosa at the half. If true to form, UF will blow another big second half lead. Can't happen? It has happened more times in one season than I can ever remember. EDIT: UF won 73-52 in Tuscaloosa so the game wasn't true to form for the Gators. UF gets UK in Gainesville on Saturday.

Week 18 - March 5: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankingsUF back in the rankings at #23 after closing with wins over Auburn, at Alabama, and Kentucky. I'm a bit surprised due to the 11 losses and that UF is 5-5 in its last 10 games. HC Mike White says the Gators having been playing their best ball of the season, but I've seen this dog and pony show already this season. Don't tell me, show me.

2019 Preseason AP Poll: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings1. Michigan State 2. Kentucky 3. Kansas 4. Duke 5. Louisville 6. Florida7. Maryland 8. Gonzaga 9. North Carolina 10. Villanova *14. Memphis 15. Oregon 18. Ohio State 22. LSU 24. AuburnThe usual suspects hold down the top 5 spots. From the current AP poll in football, Florida, Oregon, Ohio State, LSU, and Auburn are the only crossovers. Don't worry though, trn will be along soon to tell everybody Florida is guaranteed to not be a top 10 team, maybe 11-15, and that the Gators are best described as being as worthless as fool's gold. *Memphis isn't in this week's AP football poll, on the receives votes list, but they check in at #25 in the Coaches football poll.

EDIT: UCLA won a football national championship in 1954. UCLA Thanks Walt. Add UCLA for winning in 1954. The Bruins and bucknuts shared the 1954 national championship with one taking the AP and the other the UPI. The list is short so if there is another school any of you can think of, let's get them on the list.

Close, with two second place finishes, but no cigar.

Close, with two second place finishes, but no cigar. USC was ranked #2 in basketball in 70-71 and didn't even go to the NCAAs. That was the Trojans only shot at making the list with a legit contender for the National Championship in roundball.
