bulls in meltdown mode

so the nucleus of jimmy butler, dwayne wade and rajon rondo hasn't worked out too well for the bulls.  they are clinging on for dear life for the 8th seed currently.  their star players are fighting with each other on instagram (seriously).  

if the bulls decide to enter rebuild mode knowing they will be spending the next few seasons in the lottery, is there a team out there with a ton of first round picks, some young unproven players with a ton of potential like a jahlil okafor who was born and raised in chicago??  and is there a team that needs a hybrid guard/forward who doesn't need to be a ball handler most of the times and is better suited to be a complimentary player instead of the main guy?  a team that is on the rise with lots of raw talent?  

help me think here.

Let's hope The Bulls aren't stupid enough to be complicit in bailing the 76ers out of a bad draft choice. Okafor left school early and got his money but lost his career as a superstar. He's not alone.

he's too young to be called a bust.  he hasn't played enough games yet b/c he's been a bit banged up and he's battling for playing time with embiid and nerlins noel.  i'm not saying okafor will be a superstar.  but he has very advanced post up moves.  and when he focuses and plays with energy, he can be a decent defensive player too.  i think he can still be a very good NBA center.  and a change of scenery would be best for him at this point b/c embiid is severely limiting his development.

okafor seems to be a bust. he is a huge liability and just lacks quickness and overall awareness.

You're dreaming, the NBA sees what you do. A center who can't defend is a huge liability. He may have some kind of career that other teams will benefit from when they pick him up after the 76ers drop him or his contract expires. NBA has no time to develop basic skills. He took the money and ran, good for him. But there are consequences.

but i do think a quality coach like brad stevens would find a way to limit his defensive liabilities and utilize his offense.

Wasn't trying to sting you, but it was funny. NBA is, today a 3 pt league w some need for a inside game. Some need for a mid-game. And no time to focus on defensive liabilities. Unless you're in NY, play for the Knicks and score in big bunches consistently, from everywhere.

agree to an extent.  it's a spacing league now.  which is why lots of talented bigs can shoot further from the post than ever before.  still think okafor is young enough and talented enough to develop his defensive game a bit.  and even he just becomes an adequate defender...he can still be a productive player with his post/iso skills.  if a team like the bulls want to go into a rebuild mode, they have nothing to lose by taking okafor....they would be tanking anyway and he's still under a rookie deal for 2 more seasons.

not sure what team/player you may be referring to-not-but one thing is certain; adding rondo to your roster is like sprinkling arsenic on every plate of the team meal. man that guy has proven to be toxic. and he says he want to be a coach... wow.
