jackets have 7 straight home games over the next couple weeks. catching the caps for 1st in the metro may be a long shot, but a strong february would go a long way toward solidifying a top playoff slot, especially when you consider the schedule after this home stand; 14 of the last 23 on the road, 6 more back/back nights with games (columbus already has the most back/backs in the nhl) w/4 of those 6 back/backs being completely on the road. starts w/vancouver tonite. jackets seem to have righted the ship in the wake of the post win streak slump. still, not a lot of believers out there... espn has the cbj as their 9th best team entering the playoffs, despite the fact that columbus has the 3rd most points in the nhl.
