I want the video rights. wasn't jim pretty instrumental in getting jeannie's ex-boyfriend phil jackson ushered out of the staples center? women have long memories... lol LOL...I didn't keep up with the palace intrigue, but perhaps that did play a part. But Jim Buss basically said 3 years ago that if the Lakers didn't have a winning record in 3 years and compete for a playoff spot that he shouldn't be D of B-Operations. Jeanie took him up on it. And, in case you weren't paying attention, Magic just traded Lou Williams, the Lakers leading scorer at 18pts/gm for a draft pick and Corey Brewer, who is averaging 4 points a game. Can you say, "tank" ?? Take THAT, Phoenix!! |

LOL...just came from the doctors office with Sharon...saw in an old(?) SI, the Lakers had just suffered their worst defeat in franchise history, and that the date was on or near the anniversary of Kobe scoring X-points, more than the TEAM had scored in that suck game (71, I think). Too proud & successful of a program to allow that kind of performance to continue.

Too proud & successful of a program to allow that kind of performance to continue. The game you're talking about is, I'd guess, the "fire Lane Kiffen at the airport", game for Jeanie Buss. I didn't see the game, but Laker nation freaked out, from Fish, to Worthy to Byron to Horry, all basically said that the players phoned it in and didn't deserve to be wearing the uniform. Some were saying that the Lakers should clean house. Magic Johnson was in the media buzz right after that game. |

When I was a kid, I was a Celtics fan, but I watched Gail Goodrich in the NCAA tournament, and when he went from UCLA to the Lakers, I became a fan. Then Lew Alcindor. Then Magic. Bob Cousy and Bill Russell retired (& Wilt from the Lakers) and I was 100% a Lakers fan. Things have certainly fallen off the cliff the past several years, and I would like to see SOME sort of comeback towards the glory days. |
