my sweet 16...
east; villanova, east tenn st., duke and smu, w/the blue devils knocking off the defending champs in the regional final
west; gonzaga, notre dame, florida gulf coast and arizona, w/the 'cats beating the irish for the final 4 berth.
midwest; kansas, iowa state, oregon and louisville, w/isu upsetting both ku and the cards
south; north carolina, minnesota, ucla and kentucky, w/unc winning over uk in a regional final battle of blue bloods.
i have duke, arizona, iowa state and unc in my final 4, with the heels getting revenge on coach k in the final, 78-75.

my sweet 16... east; villanova, east tenn st., duke and smu, w/the blue devils knocking off the defending champs in the regional final west; gonzaga, notre dame, florida gulf coast and arizona, w/the 'cats beating the irish for the final 4 berth. midwest; kansas, iowa state, oregon and louisville, w/isu upsetting both ku and the cards south; north carolina, minnesota, ucla and kentucky, w/unc winning over uk in a regional final battle of blue bloods. i have duke, arizona, iowa state and unc in my final 4, with the heels getting revenge on coach k in the final, 78-75. well, after the 1st weekend.... east: this is a first for me. all 4 of my choices are out. at least i didn't have anyone from the east in the finals. i'm sure msg/ncaa/cbs LOVES the fact that both duke and nova won't be playing in nyc. uf-uw winner takes the east, i think, but huge kudos to south carolina in knocking off the devils. west: half my picks, gonzaga and arizona, are through. nd had a shot but played poorly vs wvu. and i actually think fgcu would have given xavier a better game than fsu did. x is now healthy, and will be an x-tremely tough out for ua, but zags-'zona shapes up to be a great regional final. midwest: was right on kansas and oregon. i'm happy purdue is in the sweet 16, but i thought isu would outshoot them and the cyclones nearly did. kudos to michigan as well (3 big 10 teams in the sweet 16) knocking off a pretty good louisville team. maybe more coaches will now instruct pilots to be distracted by conversation, radio, the weather, etc, so their plane can be blown off a runway and inspire their team to new heights. south: 3 of my 4, unc, ucla and uk, won both games over the weekend. no surprise there... i thought they had the easiest paths to the regionals. despite the heels underperforming vs arkansas, still tough to see them not making it to phoenix. still have 2 final 4 teams (north carolina, arizona) alive. not a good % after just 2 rounds. |
