i typed in costco and theyre offering a whole wheel, 72 lbs, for $900. reviews say its pretty good and its the real deal. with shipping, the eye-talian website is about a dollar cheaper (11.52 per pound). it also comes-a with-a a free a-knife-a.
ill poke around this weekend and see if i can find it even cheaper.

i typed in costco and theyre offering a whole wheel, 72 lbs, for $900. reviews say its pretty good and its the real deal. with shipping, the eye-talian website is about a dollar cheaper (11.52 per pound). it also comes-a with-a a free a-knife-a. ill poke around this weekend and see if i can find it even cheaper. that pic is from the costco website. i recognized it.
i found parmigiano at sams club for 11.50 lb. imported from italy (as per the label, imported(?) by belgioso via sams club). with the same writing imprinted on the rind. i bought a sliver (sold in 1 lb units, vacuum sealed) to try. if its okay, i might get it there, although i hate supporting sam walton and his family.

Will have the wifey check it out next time she goes shopping. whole paycheck has it, but its expensive like all their stuff (but theyre one of a few places that has le petit brie-- the best brie ive had). trader joes is too far, and most of their stuff sucks. i wonder if someone can bring back a cheese wheel on a plane from italy. |
