congrats to the buckeye men's volleyball team, who won both the miva regular season and tournament, and is the #1 seed in the ncaa tournament, which starts next week here in columbus. defending national champ osu will take on the winner of hawaii and psu in the semi finals. #2 seed long beach state will face the winner of byu-barton.
men's gymnastics capped off a successful season by finishing 2nd in the ncaa championships behind winner oklahoma. osu's women won its 2nd straight big 10 regular season title w/a win over purdue, finishing the league season 11-0 and ranked 5th in the country. osu's men beat illinois 4-3 to win its 12th straight big 10 crown, going undefeated in conference play for the 11th time in those 12 years. the men are ranked #2 in the country. both will start league tournament play friday.
the #8 men's lacrosse team beat #2 maryland 11-10... both teams are tied atop the league at 3-1. and if the baseball team hopes to make the big 10 tournament in a month, taking at least 2 of 3 in a home series w/unl would be a good start. bucks are 10th currently at 4-8 in the big 10. top 8 make the post season in bloomington.

men's volleyball begins defense of their national title tomorrow night here at st. john arena, playing hawaii in the ncaa semi finals. the rainbow warriors knocked off psu 3-2 last night to advance. byu (who lost to tosu in last year's finals) beat barton on the other side of the bracket, and will take on #2 long beach st in the other semi. finals are saturday night.
tosu's mens lacrosse team will host the big 10 tournament beginning tomorrow at jesse owens stadium opening w/johns hopkins. osu is 12-3 and ranked 5th/7th in the country. winner takes on maryland-psu winner (terps are #1 in the country) in saturday's final. buckeye baseballers dropped 2 out of 3 over the weekend to nebraska,
the monsoon of rain this week cancelled the first of two scheduled games yesterday w/#4 texas tech. they should be able to get tonite's game in. at 5-10 with 9 league games left, they need to go at least 6-3 vs michigan, iowa and indiana to have even a prayer of making the top 8 and qualifying for the league tourney.
women's softball has their final home game tonite vs kent state, then ends the season this weekend at illinois. they're 13-7/30-14 on the season, 6th straight year w/30+ wins. big 10 tournament is next wknd in ann arbor.
