... has nothing to do with GM components or gluten... everything to do with glyphosphates. still need to eat wheat? try the unhybridized einkorn wheat. www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/real-reason-for-toxic-wheat-its-not-gluten/ personally, after i quit eating wheat, i felt MUCH better. as the article describes, even a slice of bread or a tiny bit of pasta for me was enough to trigger acid reflux for 3 hours or so, every 7 minutes. i would just deal with it until i decided to solve it once and for all. if you have acid reflux, you MUST get to the root of the cause. zantacs do NOT help you-- they just cover the problem. STOP EATING what is causing your stomach distress. thats why i posted this article.

Holy sh*t!! Thanks for posting this, Graver.
I had no idea that Round Up was being used routinely to increase wheat yields!!
When I read recently about Round Up possibly causing neurological disorders in children, I wondered if my kids had been exposed to it in the late 1990s-- since I used to use it, occasionally, to kill dandelions on my lawn. (I was always careful with herbicides and insecticides-- typically using them only when my family and pets were up at the cabin for a week or two.)
This is a shocking article.

The claims made in this article are theory and hypothesis, not necessarily fact. I have talked with professors at Auburn University and Alabama A&M University about crop treatment. They all say that forced harvesting, or dessication, is not a good practice, but many farmers are using it to improve yields. I use Roundup prior to planting to eliminate weeds in my garden area. I can treat my garden soil a week before planting and don't have to weed all season. But one has to read the label to make sure they choose the correct product. Others say Preen does the same, but I find it too expensive for my size garden. We are looking to have enough veggies from our group to feed 100 families 2 meals a week. A neighbor has potatoes and beans. I have corn, beans, tomatoes, and squash. Someone else has squash, beans, and tomatoes. Another has a plot of turnip greens that might feed an army. I planted my corn in 3 plantings, each about 3 weeks apart, so they will start coming in in June and continue until August. We have 2 churches that will come and help harvest, bag, and deliver. so all I had to do is buy and plant the seeds and tomato plants. And fertilize, and spray for bugs. Well, it keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.

Well, it keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. everything i grow is done without pesticides. if i have to spray, i use neem oil or a pyretherin derivative which is completely natural. if that doesnt work, i choose another variety or plant that is resistant or easy to grow. i wont always have perfect looking vegetables, but im assured that i am not eating chemical residues from the company that brought us agent orange. i strongly believe that if the soil is rich, there are plenty of trace minerals available, and youve got plenty of mulch, you are bound to be successful. almost all soils have been depleted of trace minerals-- i dump some azomite (rock powder) around each one. its my opinion that if the trace minerals are available, the plants can successfully resist plant attacks naturally through their immune system.

All my fruits and veggies are grown 100% organically. Some are more successful than others but my biggest problem is with squirrels and birds so I use a lot of deer netting around most of the plants.
