The clown who used his on the baseball field yesterday was lucky to have hit ANYONE. Maybe he was a terrible shot, too.
The congressman from TX who was there (I forgot his name) said he wishes he had been armed to fight back. I imagine every one of them feels the same way.

Come on....Do you play a lot of ball while armed? Have you ever seen ANYONE, EVER play ball while armed? If anyone did, I'm guessin' sliding into second or diving for balls could be painful.

I'll bet every player there had a gym bag. I'll bet a lot of those gym bags were in the dugouts to where the players ran. Guess what SHOULD have been in those gym bags?
When I go to taekwondo class I wear nylon jogging pants. My wallet, keys and all the rest are in my gym bag containing my dobock and sparring gear. Guess what else is in my gym bag?
Your brainlessness rears its ugly head again, Walt.

I played on a slow pitch softball league for a few years back in my 30s and would take my weapon to the games with me but would leave it in my locked vehicle which would never be parked more than a couple hundred feet from the playing field. Some people would take these games very serious but I only saw a couple of actual fights. Everyone is a good winner but some folks don't really know how to be a good loser. Human nature I guess. Fortunately, no one ever pulled a gun out.

Fortunately, no one ever pulled a gun out. I honestly have no personal knowledge of anyone bringing a gun to a ball game. I'm sure some people probably did when I was playing, but that was way back in the mid 70's. Back then, everyone had guns in their cars and no one locked them. In the middle of semi-rural LA, in a town of about 40,000 people, we were all pretty much country boys. I don't think I knew any kid who DIDN'T own or have access to a gun.
I've actually gotten kicked out of a flag football league game I was in. Teams were sponsored by businesses just like youth baseball teams. Anyway, it was not for fighting another player, but for arguing with a referee. Surprise! LOL I am very competitive.
Our taekwondo instructor laughs about the students -- "If someone wants to attack this place, with all the black belts and guns we have here, that would be a big mistake." We all know a gun trumps bare hands and feet.

I sold my mini-14, and kept my SKS. more accurate, more reliable, hits harder, ammo cheaper.

I sold my mini-14, and kept my SKS. more accurate, more reliable, hits harder, ammo cheaper. Just messing around. I have no idea if they are accurate or not.
SKS's are uglier than a drunk Hitlery Clinton, and I've never had the desire to shoot one. I'll take your word on the cheaper ammo, too. A quick look around shows me that BRASS cased .223's are cheaper than 7.62x39mm. I won't buy any more steel-cased stuff.
The 7.62x39 is ballistically equivalent to the .30-30. I wouldn't call it hard hitting compared to a .30-06 or .303 British. The Russkie round and the old deer rifle hit harder with heavier bullets than the .223, so you are right about that. www.ballistics101.com/223_remington.php The advantage with the tiny bullet is less recoil. However, I don't want to be shot with ANYTHING!
ANY decent gun and ammo combination has acceptable combat accuracy at normal ranges, if the shooter does his part. I'm sure the SKS is more accurate than I am, but so is every gun I own.

Thanks again for schooling us on firearms Lt. Obvious. And once again, you think everyone who reads this section is knowledgeable about guns. I'll bet dollars to donuts you didn't know that the "lowly" .30-30 is superior to the 5.56 NATO.

I will take that bet. My 1,000 donuts to your 1,000 dollars that the .30-30 does not have superior muzzle velocity to 5.56 NATO. Do you need my PayPal address? You don't understand superiority. Superiority comes from hitting harder. The .30 -30 had much more muzzle energy, with a heavier bullet, than the .223. It's not how fast it gets there, it's what happens when it HITS.
You can reference this table to educate yourself.www.ballistics101.com/30-30_winchester.php#The .223 stings like a bee, the .30-30 and 7.62x39 hit like a bull. The .223 does have a flatter trajectory, I'll give it that.
To put it in football terms, who would you rather tackle head on --- a 180 lb. WR or a 225 lb RB?

Oh, I know you'll just say it's for the education of others on the board who are not so learned, however, the fact remains that every time you pull this shit it's aimed squarely at me with coon-ass condescension. I won won the bet. You didn't say superior in every way and 5.56 is obviously greatly superior in muzzle velocity and trajectory. Pay up. $1,000. Shall I PM you my PayPal address? If you want to be a jackass about it I'll split the loss with you.

Since you pointed out that I did not specify which superiority, you can't claim any kind of win. Let ME point out that I never agreed to enter into a bet with you. I said "I'll bet" in a general manner. Don't try to pull a Willie on me.
Either way, the ballistics tables prove I am right. What do snipers use? It ain't the little 5.56. They use bigger, heavier, harder hitting rounds. How was this aimed at you? Am I supposed to know if you own an SKS or not? Wait a minute ............ you own one of EVERYTHING, and yours are always the best. Forgive me for forgetting that little factoid.
