RIP Darrall Imhoff

I remember the name from when I was a kid, but can't say I ever saw him play.  I didn't recognize his picture, had to read the story to put a name to his face.

IIRC, he was part of the trade that brought Wilt Chamberlain to the Lakers.
I remember him well. Think Bill Laimbier to get an idea of his play.
He was, (for those days anyway), a load in the paint.

RIP...not sure about the trade, but do know he was the Knicks center the night Wilt scored 100. Seemed to be a good guy as well...got to "know" him a little through Facebook. We had a mutual friend so we saw each other's posts and sometimes would converse, mainly on politics. Well informed guy.

I think you're confusing him with his much older cousin...different spellings of surnames was pretty common, & I think his last name was Kingoff...Before all the area codes & stuff, I remember his number was 5-3535.  He worked at Magnavox in Ft Wayne, and I heard him paged on the intercom there...
