that's what brian windhorst of espn reported today. he says kyrie asked the cavs to trade him in a meeting last week. the request was made directly to owner dan gilbert according to windhorst; irving wants to be more of a focal point vs playing alongside lebron james. irving's agent is neither confirming nor denying the report. windhorst says the request took james by surprise, leaving him feeling 'blindsided and disappointed.' me too, if true. lol

After thumbing his nose and flipping the bird to the people of OH-IO and Cleveland in particular, for LBJ to whine about being "blindsided and disappointed" is a great big hairy "who gives a rat's ass," as far as I'm conceived.

really? i sure don't see it that way. james from all indications was wanting add a piece or two w/o losing kyrie. Irving leaving leaves a huge hole at shooting guard that derrick rose can't replace. if I understand the nba salary cap rules (which is a lie. only cpa's do), kyrie would actually be able to make more staying w the cavs, who drafted him, than going free agent. which would make it even more surprising I imagine for james/gilbert/team/fans if this turns out to be true.

I don't think anything happens with the Cavs that Lebron doesn't know about in advance and I do think he wants Kyrie gone. Kyrie is a defensive liability and he turns the ball over way too much. JMO.

jeez. why the burr up your behind about james? No burr, just an outsider with no ties to Cleveland ,Miami or anything to do with LJ looking in. I'm sure I'm not alone in my belief that he runs the team. Sure ain't his puppet Tyron Lue calling the shots.

they've made 3 straight finals together since james returned to cleveland. in terms of talent irving is in the top two when you think about the players all-time who've been teammates w/him (wade is probably higher, but kyrie is coming up fast). he averaged 2.5 to's/game this year (lebron averaged 4.1, fwiw), 25.2 pts/game, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals. you're right that his defense still needs work, but the guy's offense makes up for it. i truly think james got caught off-guard by this.
