Clay Shaw (aka Bertrand) committed perjury in his 1969 trial for conspiracy to murder the POTUS.
Don't run from Earle. That's the thread title. As Harry asked, what do you know about master conspiracy planner Earle?
I've told you based on some knowledge, what I think. The 50's, 60's and 70's were full of that kind of thing. There were once about 50 little cities that surrounded St L. All w their own police force, at one time. Every PC had little badges made up, given to kin, mayors etc. They thought they were big shots w get out of jail free cards. These badges, as folks die, pop up at antique shops around town. They'd sign a paper, which got buried, and they were good to go. Might have worked flying down the hwy to Florida and maybe to some mook citizen who didn't know better but with other Leo depts, nada.
Now if you have a third party confirmation, not associated w your fav conspiracy sites, lets see what you've found and evaluate what you have.

Clay Shaw (aka Bertrand) committed perjury in his 1969 trial for conspiracy to murder the POTUS. He told the jury that he had never worked for the CIA. During the later Church Committee hearings, Richard Helms admitted under oath that Clay Shaw had been a CIA asset. What work did he do?

In accordance with the HSCA timeline, the CIA is beginning to release some of their long classified archival documents about the JFK assassination.
In the latest trove of documents, it has been revealed that Dallas Mayor Earl Cabell was a known CIA asset on 11/22/63. Mayor Cabell was the man in charge of organizing (and leading) the Dallas entourage (and route) through Dealey Plaza.
OMG Willie, you're still not on the, they changed the motorcade route which signifies a conspiracy, highlight are you? Good god they busted that years ago. Jeez, resurrect a tired old theme every decade or so much?

The change the route theory got busted years ago and it wasn't Garrison who first brought it up. And no I'm not shocked. Sometimes I wonder if Willie thought Oliver Stones "JFK" was a documentary. Dear (LZ) Lunk-headed Zero,
Please let us all know where you believe U.S. combat vet Oliver Stone got the facts wrong in JFK. I'd be happy to straighten out your delusions. (Warning: There is a truly mind-boggling amount of CIA-funded disinformation on the web about JFK.) Oliver Stone's famous 1992 blockbuster film, JFK, debunked 30 years of CIA/Warren Commission mythology in the mainstream U.S. media, and led directly to the creation of a Congressional initiative to preserve and declassify millions of government files about the CIA's assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. These are supposed to be fully released by November of 2017.
Sylvia Meagher, the all-time international authority on Allen Dulles's ludicrous Warren Commission Report, declared that Oliver Stone's film JFK was 95% accurate.
Not surprisingly, the CIA's army of mainstream media propagandists unleashed a full-fledged multi-year assault on Oliver Stone and his film JFK, which has partially succeeded in convincing ignorant people that Stone is a flake, a poor historian, and "kooky conspiracy theorist."
The CIA/media character assassination of Oliver Stone began even before the film JFK was shown to the public, and has never ceased.
For this defamation campaign, the CIA has spent millions on academicians, ("historians") mainstream journalists, (NYT, WaPo, etc.) television, (CBS, et.al.) Hollywood, (Jack Valenti, Tom Hanks, et.al.) and internet websites (McAdams.edu, etc.)
This propaganda campaign by the CIA's Warren Commission propagandists has been unprecedented-- at least, prior to 9/11.

So Willie you allege a schedule and route change. Would you like to timeline that change? And the reasons? Any further input on Ol' Earle? Daleko,
Here are two non-CIA sources that have discussed the subject-- New Orleans DA Jim Garrison, and Jim Fetzer.
Fetzer's work has been criticized by James DiEugenio, who is probably my favorite JFK assassination expert.
(Please don't post your usual CIA-funded propaganda--which is ubiquitous-- vet your sources.)
(1) Jim Garrison, On the Trail of the Assassins (1988)
General Charles Cabell was the brother of Earle Cabell, former mayor of Dallas. Now the eleventh-hour change in the President's motorcade route was even more intriguing to me, and I immediately headed for the public library. Before sunset I had become the leading expert in New Orleans on General Charles Cabell, who, it turned out, had been fired as the C.I.A.'s number two man by President Kennedy. General Cabell had been in charge of the Agency's disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion. In the final hours, while Castro's small air force was tearing the landing effort apart, Cabell had managed to get through a call to President Kennedy in an attempt to halt the disaster. Just over the horizon, by something less than happenstance, lay aircraft carriers with fighter planes on their decks, engines warming, up. General Cabell informed the President that these fighters could reverse the course of disaster in minutes and secure the success of the invasion. All that was needed was the President's authorization. On the preceding day Kennedy had assured the assembled media that if anyone invaded Cuba (and the air had become rife with invasion rumors) there certainly would be no help from the U.S. armed forces. He flatly turned Cabell down. With that the invasion's chances sank, as did the general's intelligence career. President Kennedy asked for Cabell's resignation and the general was subsequently replaced on February 1, 1962, as the C.I.A.s deputy director. General Cabell's subsequent hatred of John Kennedy became an open secret in Washington. In most countries, a powerful individual who had been in open conflict with a national leader who was later assassinated would receive at least a modicum of attention in the course of the posthumous inquiry. A major espionage organization with a highly sophisticated capability for accomplishing murder might receive even more. Certainly a powerful individual who also held a top position in a major espionage apparatus and had been at odds with the departed leader would be high on the list of suspects.
However, General Cabell, who fit that description perfectly, was never even called as a witness before the Warren Commission. One reason may have been that Alien Dulles, the former C.I.A. director (also fired by President Kennedy), was a member of the Commission and handled all leads relating to the Agency. During the nine years that Dulles had been the CIA's chief. General Charles Cabell had been his deputy. (2) James H. Fetzer, Assassination Science and the Language of Proof, included in Assassination Science (1998)
The Deputy Director for Operations at the time of the Bay of Pigs invasion was an Air Force Lt. General by the name of Charles Cabell. Cabell had overseen attempts by the CIA in collusion with the Mob - which wanted to regain its casinos and resorts in Havana, where it was running the largest money-laundering operation in the Western hemisphere - to take out Castro. It was Cabell who, in the presence of Dean Rusk, called JFK to plead with him for the close air support he believed the President had promised, but which JFK refused to provide. He would later return to the Pentagon, after being relieved of his position at the CIA by JFK, where he would describe the President as a "traitor". Charles Cabell was born in Dallas in 1903. His brother Earle was born near Dallas in 1906. In 1961, Earle Cabell became Mayor of the City of Dallas. In his capacity as Mayor, he not only supervised the police department but oversaw ceremonial activities, including parade routes and motorcades. There is no way that the Presidential motorcade could have taken the peculiar and improper route it took through Dealey Plaza - which even contradicted the route published in the morning paper - without the approval of the Mayor. The two combined motive, means, and opportunity. The psychodynamics of the assassination, as I reconstruct the crime, thus appear to have pitted two rich and powerful right-wing brothers against two rich and powerful left-wing brothers.

The exact route the motorcade took on November 22 was published in the Dallas papers on November 19.

So, lessee now...
The mayor would surely have been involved in picking a parade route, no?
Now we learn that the mayor was a CIA asset whose CIA brother has a vendetta against JFK because of the Bay of Pigs, and his subsequent firing.
We also know that Oswald was working for the CIA, and that CIA asset Ruth Paine got Oswald a job at the TSBD in October of 1963.
CIA everywhere in Dealey Plaza--not to mention Ed Lansdale and GHWB!

There is no way that the Presidential motorcade could have taken the peculiar and improper route it took through Dealey Plaza - which even contradicted the route published in the morning paper - without the approval of the Mayor. Bullshit The two combined motive, means, and opportunity. The psychodynamics of the assassination, as I reconstruct the crime, thus appear to have pitted two rich and powerful right-wing brothers against two rich and powerful left-wing brothers.
BULLSHIT. It's made up stuff. That's what the conspiracy relies on. Change a fact and you're off to the races. Create a link and it must be but there are no facts. Cabell did not supervise the PD. He couldn't even hire the police chief. Dallas .gov was split and the PD fell under the City Manager. Final responsibility for parade route involved Special Agent Winston G. Lawson, a member of the White House detail who acted as the advance agent, and Forrest V. Sorrels, special agent in charge of the Dallas office. After the selection of the Trade Mart as the luncheon site, Lawson and Sorrels met with the Dallas PD to confer. Meeting finally with the Dallas PD on 11/15 over the proposed route down Elm. On November 18, Sorrels and Lawson drove over the selected route with the Dallas PD, verifying that it could be traversed within 45 minutes. Representatives of the local host committee and the White House staff were advised by the Secret Service of the actual route on the afternoon of November 18. Elm Street, parallel to Main Street and one block north, was not used for the main portion of the downtown part of the motorcade because Main Street offered better vantage points for spectators. Elm was used, at the end for it's access to the freeway.
And it wasn't changed at the 11th hr. The morning Dallas paper contradicted zip. Though Garrison claimed it took up 5/6 of the front page (a lie), it was small and printed at too small a scale. You have to turn on Houston and then Elm to get from Dallas' Main Street to the Stemmons Freeway. If you try driving down Main, you can get to the Stemmons only by driving over a concrete divider strip. That would be undignified for the 255" 8,000 lb, presidential limo, and impossible for the press busses that were a part of the motorcade.
Information for this part of Garrison's "investigation" was picked up from the conspiracy buffs who flooded into New Orleans when the District Attorney announced his inquiry. It's garbage. But Bollywood loved it.
