Daleko,
Here are two non-CIA sources that have discussed the subject-- New Orleans DA Jim Garrison, and Jim Fetzer.
Fetzer's work has been criticized by James DiEugenio, who is probably my favorite JFK assassination expert.
(Please don't post your usual CIA-funded propaganda--which is ubiquitous-- vet your sources.) LOL always your go to crutch
(1) Jim Garrison, On the Trail of the Assassins (1988)
General Charles Cabell was the brother of Earle Cabell, former mayor of Dallas. Now the eleventh-hour change in the President's motorcade route was even more intriguing to me, and I immediately headed for the public library. Before sunset I had become the leading expert in New Orleans on General Charles Cabell, who, it turned out, had been fired as the C.I.A.'s number two man by President Kennedy. General Cabell had been in charge of the Agency's disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion. In the final hours, while Castro's small air force was tearing the landing effort apart, Cabell had managed to get through a call to President Kennedy in an attempt to halt the disaster. Just over the horizon, by something less than happenstance, lay aircraft carriers with fighter planes on their decks, engines warming, up. General Cabell informed the President that these fighters could reverse the course of disaster in minutes and secure the success of the invasion. All that was needed was the President's authorization. On the preceding day Kennedy had assured the assembled media that if anyone invaded Cuba (and the air had become rife with invasion rumors) there certainly would be no help from the U.S. armed forces. He flatly turned Cabell down. With that the invasion's chances sank, as did the general's intelligence career. President Kennedy asked for Cabell's resignation and the general was subsequently replaced on February 1, 1962, as the C.I.A.s deputy director. General Cabell's subsequent hatred of John Kennedy became an open secret in Washington. In most countries, a powerful individual who had been in open conflict with a national leader who was later assassinated would receive at least a modicum of attention in the course of the posthumous inquiry. A major espionage organization with a highly sophisticated capability for accomplishing murder might receive even more. Certainly a powerful individual who also held a top position in a major espionage apparatus and had been at odds with the departed leader would be high on the list of suspects.
However, General Cabell, who fit that description perfectly, was never even called as a witness before the Warren Commission. One reason may have been that Alien Dulles, the former C.I.A. director (also fired by President Kennedy), was a member of the Commission and handled all leads relating to the Agency. During the nine years that Dulles had been the CIA's chief. General Charles Cabell had been his deputy. (2) James H. Fetzer, Assassination Science and the Language of Proof, included in Assassination Science (1998)
The Deputy Director for Operations at the time of the Bay of Pigs invasion was an Air Force Lt. General by the name of Charles Cabell. Cabell had overseen attempts by the CIA in collusion with the Mob - which wanted to regain its casinos and resorts in Havana, where it was running the largest money-laundering operation in the Western hemisphere - to take out Castro. It was Cabell who, in the presence of Dean Rusk, called JFK to plead with him for the close air support he believed the President had promised, but which JFK refused to provide. He would later return to the Pentagon, after being relieved of his position at the CIA by JFK, where he would describe the President as a "traitor". Charles Cabell was born in Dallas in 1903. His brother Earle was born near Dallas in 1906. In 1961, Earle Cabell became Mayor of the City of Dallas. In his capacity as Mayor, he not only supervised the police department Bullshit but oversaw ceremonial activities, including parade routes and motorcades. There is no way that the Presidential motorcade could have taken the peculiar and improper route it took through Dealey Plaza - which even contradicted the route published in the morning paper - without the approval of the Mayor. Bullshit The two combined motive, means, and opportunity. The psychodynamics of the assassination, as I reconstruct the crime, thus appear to have pitted two rich and powerful right-wing brothers against two rich and powerful left-wing brothers.
BULLSHIT. It's made up stuff. That's what the conspiracy relies on. Change a fact and you're off to the races. Create a link and it must be but there are no facts. Cabell did not supervise the PD. He couldn't even hire the police chief. Dallas .gov was split and the PD fell under the City Manager. Final responsibility for parade route involved Special Agent Winston G. Lawson, a member of the White House detail who acted as the advance agent, and Forrest V. Sorrels, special agent in charge of the Dallas office. After the selection of the Trade Mart as the luncheon site, Lawson and Sorrels met with the Dallas PD to confer. Meeting finally with the Dallas PD on 11/15 over the proposed route down Elm. On November 18, Sorrels and Lawson drove over the selected route with the Dallas PD, verifying that it could be traversed within 45 minutes. Representatives of the local host committee and the White House staff were advised by the Secret Service of the actual route on the afternoon of November 18. Elm Street, parallel to Main Street and one block north, was not used for the main portion of the downtown part of the motorcade because Main Street offered better vantage points for spectators. Elm was used, at the end for it's access to the freeway.
And it wasn't changed at the 11th hr. The morning Dallas paper contradicted zip. Though Garrison claimed it took up 5/6 of the front page (a lie), it was small and printed at too small a scale. You have to turn on Houston and then Elm to get from Dallas' Main Street to the Stemmons Freeway. If you try driving down Main, you can get to the Stemmons only by driving over a concrete divider strip. That would be undignified for the 255" 8,000 lb, presidential limo, and impossible for the press busses that were a part of the motorcade.
Information for this part of Garrison's "investigation" was picked up from the conspiracy buffs who flooded into New Orleans when the District Attorney announced his inquiry. It's garbage. But Bollywood loved it.You need to study the scientific evidence and quit drinking the CIA koolaid. Kennedy wasnt even there. The Zapruder film was made months before, staged with deep state actors and with the cooperation and expertise of the Hollywood studios. It was shot, SFX added, and then reshot onto 8mm film. The actual motorcade never happened. All the so-called witnesses were actors. Kennedy spent his remaining years quietly, on a remote Greek island, guarded by CIA assets. I mean, come on...you think Jackie WANTED to marry a fat Greek shipping magnate? Please.

When did known CIA asset Ruth Paine get Lee Oswald a job at the Texas School Book Depository?
How did she know, in advance, where JFK's limo would be on 11/22/63?
Answer the question.

Cheese Burgher,
Did you get your false information about the JFK motorcade route (above) from John McAdams at McAdams.edu?
I've told you on several occasions that McAdams is a CIA disinformation man with a prominent website that usually comes up first on Google searches. He's a complete fraud.
Also, if you look at the bogus Wikipedia account of the JFK motorcade route's editing "History" you will see literally hundreds of edits that were repeatedly blacked-out by the CIA people in charge of managing info on Wikipedia. (This is true of most Wiki articles having to do with matters of U.S. intelligence and/or the military-industrial complex.) A student at Cal Tech traced two computer IP addresses that were editing Wikipedia to the CIA.
Here are the true facts about the fatal diversion down Elm Street. The John F. Kennedy Assassination Homepagewww.jfk-assassination.com/media/drawings/route.phpThe Motorcade Route
This is a map of Dealey Plaza. The motorcade route followed the green line. There are direct signs indicating that the route was initially - even still on the day of the assassination - planned to lead via Main Street and not via Houston and Elm Street. The »Dallas Morning Star« had published on November 22nd, 1963, a plan of the route which led on Main Street. The Warren Commission claimed in its report that it is impossible to go on Main Street and on to Stemmons Freeway, and therefore the motorcade had to go via Houston and Elm. But Traffic Patrolman Joe Marshall Smith testified that he knew nothing that would have prevented the motorcade from going directly down Main Street and on to the Stemmons Freeway (see WCH7 p. 538).
As an evidence that the real motorcade route was known at Friday morning, the Warren Commission presented the above mentioned »Dallas Morning Star« issue. But the five columns where the picture had to appear were completely blanked out.
Why did this become so important?
It was essential for the Commission to prove that Oswald had a prior knowledge about the motorcade route. In fact, if Oswald would not have known at the evening of November 21, 1963, that the route passed the Texas School Book Depository Building (TSBD) then he simply could not have planned to shoot Kennedy from the TSBD.
That mentioned evening, Oswald was driven home by his fellow worker Buell Wesley Frazier to Irving, Texas, where his wife and children lived. This visit was unexpected and therefore, at the first glance, highly suspicious. The Commission believes that he retrieved his rifle and took it next morning back to Dallas. But that presupposes Oswald's knowledge of Kennedy's visit and the motorcade. The Commission demonstrated that he could have been aware of the route as early as November 19. But nothing in the testimonies indicates »that he really did!«
Most of the TSBD employees did learn at Friday morning that the motorcade would pass the building (see WCH3 p. 178, 209). Even FBI agent Hosty, who participated in the advance preparation of the Dallas visit, »...never realized that the motorcade would pass the Texas School Book Depository Building« until Thursday evening. (see WCR p. 441).

His brother lived in N Dallas. Most everyone knew that the way to the freeway West was on Elm. Look up Dallas Times Herald on the Tues B4, the route was listed. Jeez, that should be easy enough for you. (Shaking head, Willie take your meds)

Jeez, this is too easy. Go on any site that'll show you a sat view of the intersection the concrete dividers are still there. They don't end until AFTER they pass the entrance to the freeway. You'd have to do a U turn, then another U turn, to enter. Come on Willie, this was busted years ago and accepted by intelligent people capable of accessing sat pics on their home computer. Daleko,
I see your point about Main Street, Elm Street, and access to the Stemmons freeway.
It looks like the modern day "concrete barriers" that you mentioned were not there on 11/22/63, but that there was some sort of grassy median strip with low curbs (?) separating Main Street from Elm Street on the Dealey Plaza side of the overpass.
See, for example;
texastimetravel.oncell.com/project-assets/2043/img/a704a6a59a466f97ce16dab708e7e3c932298aba58517565daffede7.jpg
But you and the hairy chicken still haven't answered the critical question I asked.
If the JFK motorcade route hadn't been determined by whomever until November 18th, (or thereabouts) how did Oswald's CIA contact in Dallas, Ruth Paine, know to get him a job at the Texas School Book Depository in October of 1963?
In other words, how did the CIA just happen to get Oswald a job at the TSBD a month or so before JFK drove by in a limo?
Just a lucky guess by Oswald's CIA handlers?
Explain. (I predict in advance that you, Harry, and Walt will dodge my question.)

He had a readily available sniper's nest at his new job, and no police surveillance, despite his history of defecting to the USSR and handing out pro-Castro leaflets in New Orleans...

Not yet will we leave this issue, the route change, the newspapers and Earle. To a 255" 8,000 lb limo and commercial buses they are barriers when the limos are carrying the POTUS and Gov. You don't pop a curb w a limo unless you gotta escape. You'll pop a tire. It's why big trucks have 10-12 ply tires. This was 1963, it ran on auto bias ply tires built for 4,000 lb cars. Sidebar story not well known. POTUSs' are funny guys, Trump is the most of a few. LBJ had three SS driver reassigned. One for hitting a pothole, one for taking a curve too fast and one for breaking too hard and arriving at his destination too early while he was getting a BJ from some young admin. Nixon had a Col who flew as a sub AF1 driver, reassigned because he landed too hard in a storm.
Popping a curb was not an option. So the route was well founded. Making what was a S turn was also not an option for either vehicle. They were too long to do it. Plus there was a very good chance that the limo would get stuck bottoming out in the center of the barrier. How'd that look. So do we agree that the route change is busted. The newspapers had it right, agree? Garrison, never saw the papers, he relied on the conspiracy hounds. So that's busted, right? Everyone knew about the parade by Tues, the public by Wed and the mayor was not involved. So that's busted correct? I know what Earle's position was. It was a free lunch gift. He wasn't alone. I factually know these kinds of events. As a sidebar 2/3+ of intel field individuals are stringers, paid for w an unlimited dark budget, not headcount employees.

Nobody knew the motorcade route in October. There's your answer. Geez, Harry...what an uncanny coincidence that Oswald got a job at the TSBD in October. He had a readily available sniper's nest at his new job, and no police surveillance, despite his history of defecting to the USSR and handing out pro-Castro leaflets in New Orleans... Ouch, fellas! Those facts had to hurt...

Are you finally conceding that Oswald shot Kennedy? Hallelujah.
The story of how and when Oswald got the job at the book building is well known. As is the date he returned to Dallas. As is his being on FBI radar from the time he returned to the U.S. in 1962, which included his time in both New Orleans and Dallas.
