You two go ahead and kill anybody you want to. I'll type it again, slower. You two go ahead and kill anybody you want to.
NOW .............. are the two threads reconciled?

This isn't about bam or I wanting to kill somebody (we don't), it's about you saying you will kill anybody that comes into your house uninvited on the one hand. On the other hand you say you won't kill anybody for stealing your property from your house. I'm just trying to figure out whether or not you're going to kill anybody. I don't want to risk stealing your stuff unless you can assure me that I won't be killed.

If you run, OK -- you're gone. We'll get you later. If you decide to attack me with a weapon, you are shot. At that point, I am no longer defendng property; I am defending my SELF.
If you break into my house while I am home, and I determine you have bad intentions, you are DEAD. If you just walk in and say "I need help," then I will probably stop and assess the situation, while ARMED.
If you want something I have, why not try ASKING?

If you want something I have, why not try ASKING? Can I have your High Standard? Ummmmmmmm ................ NO. But you did the polite thing by asking.
I don't know if I got lucky or what, but this particular "cheapie" is exceptionally accurate and reliable. The barrel bushing, barrel and slide mate extremely well. If you haven't already, check one out in person. You MIGHT be impressed. No, it is not as smoothly machined inside as a $1000 gun, but who cares? If you get one like mine, you won't regret it. Again ......... mine MIGHT be an anomaly, but I haven't heard any bad things about them in general.

Is there a reason you are sounding ridiculous this morning? just parroting .........robber wants to steal something.......store was insured I bet........if not, that's the stores fault. I'll bet Democrats would like to have federally subsidized looter insurance. Stores wouldn't have to lock doors or have alarms. Federal Looters Insurance Program. For those that don't give a FLIP about the law.

The feds issue M-16's to all store owners (with ammunition and training), and in the case of emergency, back them up with soldiers armed with M-16's too. That is FLIP Part A.
FLIP Part B is the Federal Looters Interment Program. Self-explanatory.

But all they wanted to steal was property........ They were threatening to use deadly force to steal that property. That made this a life or death situation. A lot different than simply jumping over the counter and cleaning out the registers. Nice try, but you fail.
To say that I am more than a little dizzy trying to follow your "belief" is an understatement. Killing someone you caught breaking into your house and loading up your property is wrong....you don't kill someone over something that can be replaced ...but looters should be shot on sight? Who's life are they threatening and what are they taking that can't be replaced? Twice while I was self-employed I had a bucket truck broken into and several thousand dollars worth of tools and equipment was taken ... to be honest I would have killed the SOB(s) had I caught them in the act...and IMO deservingly so (not to be confused with legally so) ...they were stealing my livelihood...thats as low down as looting. What about a person who breaks into and steals the PA system from a church, the band equip from a school, the audio books from the blind center, what if the thief is taking your mothers home hemodialysis machine, etc......doesn't that make them as low down as a looter.... would it be OK to shoot them too? Point being, at the time of the incident you can't determine who's doing what and/or for what reason ..... maybe the thief is under extreme stress due to a family catastrophe and has no other choice or the time to anything else....does that make his crime any less painful on you? Which finally gets me to my belief ...I disagree with you across the board, I think it should be legal to take whatever steps needed to protect life and your property....sometimes that property is a lot more important than just simply being "property" Bg(believe it or not..I'm finally done <g>)VolFan Sorry wrong thread Bg(see, I told you that it was making me dizzy<g>)VolFan

Yes, the looter thing does seem to contradict the rest of what I have said. If the looters are taking food, clothing, meds, essential things ----------- we can forgive them. When they are taking advantage of chaos, preying on the misery of others for their own GREED, running in packs like animals, shooting is what they deserve. (OK, not really -- but like you said, heat of the moment.)
The church, the school, the blind center, all should be insured. Yes it is lowdown, but show me where burglary and theft are capital offenses in your state. You have no more right to put a thief to death than your state does. It is THAT simple.
I would imagine if mom's home dialysis machine were stolen, the good people of the community would rise up and replace it PDQ.
Here's a suggestion (and our resident legal eagle would probably agree with me here): Look at your state's laws. Find the crimes that are punishable by death. If the crime YOU are confronted with is one of those, kill away. If not, you have exceeded your state's laws. Simple ain't it?
Still, I'll repeat it for those who think differently from me. Kill anybody you want to for whatever reason YOU choose. ANYBODY. You don't need my permission, approval, or agreement. Go ahead and kill them, since you think you will be right. Kill, kill, kill. Your local grand jury will decide if you acted properly.
One more thought: Would Jesus kill a thief?

I can't speak as to what Jesus would do ...... but if his answer was no then that would also include shooting and killing that looter with a 50 TV on his back. And I am well aware of the law..thats why I pointed that out in my reply .... I think the law should be expanded to the absolute right to protect my property by whatever means needed. I also believe that a person should have the right to refuse service because of religious beliefs (like selling a cake to a homo).... but the same school of thought applies here, what I believe and what the law is are two very different things ....and should I ever have to cross that bridge..... then I will know which I adhere to....my belief or the law. Bg(we will just have to agree to disagree)VolFan
