Then why bring up a rifle you can't touch..?... I surmise that for the average Joe, the AR beats the crap out of a Barrett. Because I can. That First Amendment thing, you know? Then there you go. BS away.

Did you have anything constructive to add to the civics lesson, or are you simply being like TRNcoat and sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong? Would you care to comment on the Bill of Rights vs the liberals' fantasy Bill of Needs?

Would you care to comment on the Bill of Rights vs the liberals' fantasy Bill of Needs? Nope, just wondering why someone would bring up a firearm that neither he nor any other average citizen can afford just to be ornery. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense... but then here lately, quite a bit of what you say doesn't.

The caliber or price matters not.

I think Mutt has AR envy. Probably penis bigger than 3" envy too. Now why would I want a rifle that is inferior to my Mini-14? If I really wanted an AR I'd get one, but it would still be a backup for the REAL rifle --- the Ruger. There is NO AR on the market that has the unrestricted company backing like Ruger gives its customers, EXCEPT a Ruger AR-556 or SR-762, which beats ANY .223/5.56. If it breaks, they fix it -- usually free and fast.
The military is NOT infallible in choosing guns. A great example is the Beretta M-9. They dumped the battle proven M1911A-1 in favor of the puny 9MM Beretta (not even AMERICAN) in order to suck NATO's balls. It was a HUGE mistake and the special operators know it. That's why THEY carry 1911's. So do gun knowledgeable police officers if they actually have a choice.

Do you have personal experience with Rugers breaking that they fixed fast and free?

Do you have personal experience with Rugers breaking that they fixed fast and free? No, I've never had a Ruger break. But when I bought my Mini-14 USED, I took the picaninny rail off of it, but did not have the receiver plug screws to fill the holes. So I called Ruger and told them what I needed. They sent me some screws for a 10/22. Free. Ooops. Wrong size. I called them back. The guy I talked to looked it up and told me that those screws come ONLY in a pack with the rail, rail mounting screws, AND filler screws. About 4 days after the second call, I received the ENTIRE package, FREE again.
And yes, I have heard of others who get their Rugers repaired FREE. If the gun can't be fixed, Ruger will REPLACE it.
Try getting that kind of service from your AR manufacturer.

If YOU fukc up your gun, of course YOU are responsible! Now what other mfg gives away FREE PARTS?
Sorry you don't get it.
If you don't like Rugers, don't buy them. But don't speak when you don't know what you are talking about.

I've been "liking" Rugers a lot longer than you have, old pal. I just get tired of your gun lectures where you repeat the same thing over and over.

The first handgun I used on a regular basis was a Ruger Single-Six convertible about 50 years ago. It was my constant carry gun on our trips to the boonies to commit firearms mayhem. Since my first gun was a SA revolver, that probably explains my affinity for them even now. Its long gun companion was a Marlin M99M1. www.marlinforum.com/The-Marlin-99-M1-Carbine.htmlThe Single Six and the Mini-14 are the only two Ruger products I really like. Their semiautos offer nothing you can't get anywhere else, and their centerfire revolvers are UGLY. I'm sure their rifles are top notch, but I'm not a rifle guy.

Ok, you got me, old pal. I've only been handling Rugers since the early 80's. It's all good. You are a GUN OWNER. That is much more important than what gun you own.
