YES! And if I didn't already own one, I'd be getting one! Mine has the preferred round butt, but I don't know about these. Used LE guns can be great buys. They aren't really shot that much, and they have to be kept in good functioning condition for liability's sake. If you think a .38 Spl +P HP is something to sneeze at, think again.www.gunbroker.com/item/700893309

A-B in St L just put 30+ S&W stainless revolvers, changing to a semi. Given its intended use in HD I'd rather have a 2" 64. Though because of my hand size, I'd change the grip. 64 prelock should be in the $400 range.

Pretty gun. I load the Model 13 3" with Gold Dot .38 SPL +P for SD even though I could use .357 mag.

The BEST choice for me would be a 3" Model 65 or 13, the .357 version, but they are not only rare, but well out of the $300 range. My wife has one and she refuses to trade guns with me. The difference in concealment from 2 to 3 inches is negligible.
I agree about the grips. My gun has the small wooden magna ("service") grips on it with a Tyler T-grip. Thought I had a pic of the grips on my gun, but I guess not.

It's all about what one can fire accurately, every time. +P for me isn't necessary given the only place I would have a revolver is in the BR. At 10 ft new construct .38 is enough. Heck a .32 M would be enough. If I gotta go elsewhere in the house, which I don't suggest, my pump is in the closet.

I guess this SHOULD be a separate discussion, but for home defense I rely on the same gun I carry every day. It makes little sense to downgrade from a .45 to a smaller caliber, or to use a gun that I am not used to shooting as much as my "American Express" gun. I'll probably be confused and startled enough if I am ever attacked in the house, so no sense in adding to the confusion.
Of course, if I have time to prepare to repel borders, I'd call the cops first, then set up in wait with my (1) shotgun, (2) Mini-14, THEN (3) my Glock 30S or S&W 645. If they get past the dogs, shotgun, rifle AND handgun, I am having a really bad day.
