... w/the islanders tonite. daughter (tosu grad) and her husband (um fan; this is one of the few teams they can both root for-lol) will be there. can the youngest team in the nhl help the cbj be a more consistent player in the post season? can bob be as good in april as he is during the winter?

Lots of questions surrounding the Bolts, too. Will Cooper actually trust his young defensemen and play them? Can Stamkos stay healthy? Is Vasilevskiy ready to be a #1 in net? We are once again favorites in the East but you see how far that got us last year. We won't be that bad again but how far this talented and experienced group can actually go remains to be seen. The last two nights were fun as a fan of the game but it starts for real tonight when our teams hit the ice. Go Bolts and Go Jackets

Go Bolts and Go Jackets could not ask for a better start re cbj. 5-1 after last night's win in winnipeg. bob's been outstanding in net but it was key that korpisalo get a win as a starter. love seeing the balance w/5 different guys putting the biscuit in the basket. next up? the 5-1-1 bolts.

Two best records in the league. Ought to be a good one.

I only caught the last half of the game but I saw enough to see our defensive problems still need to be solved. Very loose in our own end leading to a boatload of shots by the Jackets. Vasilevskiy played very well and the kid, Sergachev got his first two NHL goals, flashing a little bit of the talent that allowed Yzerman to move Jonathan Drouin to MTL.
I am obviously happy with the results but realize there is still some work to be done on the backline.
Side note... what is up with the light crowd last night? Everybody stayed home to watch the Chiefs and Raiders? Disappointing turnout this early in the season.

Disappointing turnout this early in the season. just got back from lunch w/a co-worker who's been a season ticket holder since '99. he was disappointed in the crowd too, especially for a thursday and osu having a bye week. he was more disappointed in the lack of effective power play shifts. lol
