cats just 4-7 ats as home dogs. hawks are 7-0 ats lately on the road w/revenge (nw won last yr 38-31) and 10-2-1 ats as road chalk. iowa. loss
2. (3-3) INDIANA +6.5 AT #18 MICHIGAN STATE (5-1)
sparty flying under the radar per usual. msu is 6-0 ats w/big 10 revenge (iu won 24-21 in '16). hoosiers off psu and um, and now another physical foe. iu is 2-10 ats as less than a 3 td underdog vs good (.700+) teams. michigan state. win
3. (4-3) SYRACUSE +16.5 AT #8 MIAMI (FL) (5-0)
canes off back/back weeks stealing games at the buzzer vs fsu/ga tech. canes 9-5-1 ats as home faves. 'cuse off clemson upset and have looked good on the road at lsu/nc state. cfb nerd stat; teams off a win as +8/more dog are just 24-40 ats as a double digit dog the next game. miami. loss
4. (5-1) #19 MICHIGAN +9.5 AT #2 PENN ST.(6-0)
last yr um beat psu 49-10, and it wasn't that close. ugly hats are 5-0 ats in the 2nd of back/back road games, and 5-0 ats vs teams off a bye week. nitts just 1-13 ats as unbeaten favorites off 10+ win. cfb nerd stat #2; teams off a bye off 2 previous wins in week 7 are 22-37-1 ats when playing a good (won 8+ previous year) opponent. you just can't make that stuff up. michigan. loss

uva quietly having a nice season. bc off a nice win at l'ville. cavs just 2-6-1 ats as home chalk, 3-8 ats off back/back wins. golden eagles are an impressive 11-2-2 ats getting pts on the road. boston college. win

the disappointment bowl for '17 between 2 teams who had much greater expectations. nole offense has sputtered, cards d can't stop anyone. fsu is 0-5 ats vs teams off a loss as a favorite, and 0-11 ats as -23/less favorites vs teams off back/back losses. hm. louisville. win
10. (6-1) #11 USC +3.5 AT #13 NOTRE DAME (5-1)
first time in a dozen years this game has had true national implications. trojans won 45-27 last yr. cfb nerd stat #2 applies here too for nd, who is off a bye/back to back wins. they're also 0-9 ats as favorites off back/back wins. sc does have some injury issues, but after not covering 5 straight games, all as chalk, i like a winning team in that scenario when they're getting points. southern california. loss
