Came out my front door the other morning, and there was a new "Yellow Pages" on the front porch.
I'm thinkin', "Yellow Pages? Yellow Pages?! Talk about a blast from the past! Who uses the Yellow Pages anymore?"

Put it directly into the recycle bin.

And it still appears to be a viable bus model. Someone is paying for the yellow page placement. Admittedly probably at lower rates today.

says Western Electric on it. has this dial on the front with holes in it (both numbered and lettered) to which you put a finger and turn it clockwise until you reach a small chrome stop plate. Pull the finger out so it will recoil back to rest, find a new hole, rinse and repeat. My home number starts with AMhurst 2. My business number started with AjaX 4.

And it probably worked just fine........guess how many tons of natural resources that could have been saved if we had left well enough alone.

Well, since you brought it up ...

Had a guy out last week to shoe 4 horses. He's a young guy, early 20s. He went to a tech school (aka trade school) for a year to learn how to trim a hoof, shape a shoe to fit, and put the shoe on. He also had an hour a week course from a vet on diagnosing horse diseases, and a horse trainer gave lessons on how to approach and calm a skittish horse. Some farriers use a nose clamp to secure a horse but he was taught to use a soothing voice and hand contact. He was very good at his job and I will uses him again.


Edit: You don't get a horse re-shoed. You get it re-shod.
