The "slave states of NY and CA," Fred?
Get yer pointy head examined, dude.
Do you know anything about the historic relationship between slavery, the KKK, and "rifle clubs" in the former Confederate states?

FRed knows, but you don't, that Lincolns Emancipation Proclamation did not apply to slaves still being held in Union and border states. FRed also knows, as do many in here, of the history of your granddaddy and the KKK in Colorado.

Probably not. But had she gone public with news that The Drunkard Ted Kennedy fathered an illegitimate child, it likely would have ruined any chances he had of running for president. You could have found out much about that incident had you merely answered one question I asked. Do you not believe me about Less Than Honest Abe not giving a shit about the Negroes?

Read my Lincoln history threads, Dung-head. You still don't get it. Wrong. It's you that doesn't get it.www.history.com/news/5-things-you-may-not-know-about-lincoln-slavery-and-emancipationThe Emancipation Proclamation didn’t actually free all of the slaves. Since Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation as a military measure, it didn’t apply to border slave states like Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri, all of which had remained loyal to the Union. Lincoln also exempted selected areas of the Confederacy that had already come under Union control in hopes of gaining the loyalty of whites in those states. In practice, then, the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t immediately free a single slave, as the only places it applied were places where the federal government had no control—the Southern states currently fighting against the Union. Despite its limitations, Lincoln’s proclamation marked a crucial turning point in the evolution of Lincoln’s views of slavery, as well as a turning point in the Civil War itself. By war’s end, some 200,000 black men would serve in the Union Army and Navy, striking a mortal blow against the institution of slavery and paving the way for its eventual abolition by the 13th Amendment.

Ra mey,
I've already explained Lincoln's cautious, step-wise approach to resolving the slavery problem.
He didn't want to alienate the border states and Southern unionists.
The Radical Republican Abolitionists-- Thaddeus Stevens, Charles Sumner, James Garfield, et.al.-- were frustrated with Lincoln's tardiness on Abolition, but it was a calculated effort to prevent secession and, later, to win the war.
If you want to understand Lincoln's private beliefs about slavery, you must look beneath the surface of his public statements.
He believed, privately, that slavery was evil.
