This slipped by last week, but the idea of shooting a car into orbit and returning the lift boosters to Earth for re-use is pretty amazing. I wish I could be there to see the looks on the faces of the people who, a million years from now, stumble upon a Tesla with a dummy at the wheel scooting around the solar system.

Landing the two boosters in unison looked like it was right out of some movie. Unbelievable. Now we want the sell the space station. Design me a patio addition and I'll open my wallet to buy it, The station that is. You'll comp me the addition in exchange for your logo being featured.

This in anticipation of very long space voyages. The most intresting thing I read had to do with atrophy of very small muscle groups associated with balance, small ankle muscles and such things. Apparently there is no way to exercise them in space. Interesting problem, eh?

I suppose pneumatic cylinders don't work well in zero gravity.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that that research is being cross pollinated with work being done help immobile patients, on the mend, to move down the path to mobility more quickly. Particularly as it pertains to nerve damage and MS.

But my Q is could I join the 62 mile high club? &www.theverge.com/2017/8/29/16217348/nasa-iss-how-do-astronauts-exercise-in-space

I suppose pneumatic cylinders don't work well in zero gravity.Nah, it would be the same whether leaf springs or pneumatic cylinders. They use various exercise machines on the ISS. But ... regarding gravity effects, it's a lot worse than that. Check the recent stories about how it affected the astronaut-twin's DNA, just from spending a few months in orbit. That's a problem that we have no idea how to fix. Must be the effect of low radiation doses?
