As expected, the nuts are falling from the trees. Very few points in their proposed law do ANYTHING to make schools safer.
The first part of this paragraph is troublesome:>>> The "Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act" (SB 7026) would also give law enforcement more power to seize weapons and ammunition from those deemed mentally unfit or otherwise a threat, and provide additional funding for armed school resource officers and for mental health services. <<< Who decides who is "mentally unfit" and WHAT are the criteria to be deemed "otherwise a threat?" www.cnn.com/2018/03/05/us/urgent-gun-measures-florida-state-legislatures/index.html

Hide your guns.

Hide your guns. I don't live in Florida. What THEY do has no bearing on me. I have more gun rights in Florida than its own citizens do. Same in Kalifornication.
P.S. I hide a gun every time I leave my house. That is what smart people who live in freedom-supporting states do. Woe be unto he who forces me to UNhide my gun.

Hide your guns. Of course Walt offers no real contribution to the debate, but I bolded an interesting blurb. That sounds like putting more guns in schools. Trn has great points about that, but I'm still on the fence. If a teacher wants to be armed, and goes through LEO type training, I don't see the problem.

Yeah the willlingness to allow armed personnel in schools was the only real bright spot I saw in the Florida bill, or the synopsis thereof. I haven't read the actual bill itself. Yet.
