There are some good teams in the NIT, USC/L'ville/St. Mary's, who should have been invited to the NCAA tourney: www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/ncaa-tournament/brackets/viewable_nitI won't speculate on who got into the NCAA tourney that shouldn't have, Oklahoma is one - others could be because of conference tourney upsets, but this is as attractive of a field for the NIT as I can remember. I'll be watching to see if one of the three teams I mentioned above goes on to win the NIT. JMHO, the selection committee did a poor job this year.

Not only is the SEC 4-0 after the first day of the NCAA tourney, the SEC is 2-0 in the NIT after the first round of games with Mississippi State eliminating Nebraska and LSU eliminating the Louisiana Lafayette Rajun Cajuns.

This year seems to be telling us that there are a lot of great players in college ball. I poo-poo'd the NIT, but I am reconsidering.

The Madison Square Garden games are set:
Mississippi State vs. Penn State Utah vs. Western Kentucky
That's three 4 seeds and a 2 seed. I haven't seen any of these teams except Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are pretty good and are doing well under Ben Howland's leadership.
None of the teams I thought should have been in the NCAA tourney, L'ville/St. Mary's/USC, made it to New York.
