Todd McNair's libel suit against the NCAA in regard to the Reggie Bush/USC affair has finally made it to court, more than 10 years after the events that triggered it occurred.

Todd McNair's libel suit against the NCAA in regard to the Reggie Bush/USC affair has finally made it to court, more than 10 years after the events that triggered it occurred. I've been following it a little, I hope McNair wins and wins big. He was the fall guy for both the NCAA and USC.

McNair loses the lawsuit. Move along....nothing to see here...
According to the jury foreman, they wanted to find for McNair, or at least punish the NCAA in some manner, but had no legal way to get there based on the evidence presented.
"I don’t think the NCAA should come away thinking that they did something right.. We wanted to do something. We wanted to do something right..."
From the sound of it, it looks as though the NCAA's attorney's kicked some ass.

From the sound of it, it looks as though the NCAA's attorney's kicked some ass. That's a problem with civil suits. Juries sometimes want to award the little guy/gal if the other side has deep pockets. The side that picks the right jury usually wins whether it's a correct decision or not. I sat on a jury in a civil suit once and even though the plaintiff was clearly at fault in the accident, 3 people on the 6 person jury wanted to give her money because the defendant was a Pepsi distributor and had lots of money. Took us 3 hours to convince one of the 2 she didn't deserve an award. Obviously the defendants lawyers in the McNair case did a good job.
