Another neat little trip my Dad was involved in during WWII, towing gliders across the Rhine.
From my Dad's scrapbook. His plane and crew. "Over the Rhine, 24 March 1945." He is in the center, standing.

It is nice to see history being shown here on ocassion that has some purpose & meaning as opposed to propaganda and lies...

They have maps of all the campaigns he flew in and the routes he took and his logbook records every flight he made. Newspaper clippings of his enlistment, advancement through the ranks, and flight training, and much more. There are also photos of famous places, postcards from England, France, Italy, etc., napkins and matchbooks from French cafes --------- all kinds of stuff.
The cool thing is my younger brother photocopied his scrapbook and put all of it on a DVD.

That IS pretty cool...I'd recommend finding a safe storage space & restoration, if needed for the original. But with DVDs, ALL the grands get to see what Great-great-great Grandpappy did in the Big one...

The scrapbook survived the Big Flood of 2016, even though their house went under. It's definitely in a safer place now!

Are you referring to your idiotic, false posts about the U.S. 753rd Tank Battalion in WWII, or what, exactly? Feel free to point out any "propaganda and lies" that you see in my history references. That would be the day, dumb fxck...

I'd have to look into the history of the airborne units he dropped, but you're probably right. My mother's brother was one of the paratroopers who jumped on D-Day, and he and my dad tried to find each other prior to takeoff, but it was impossible. My uncle got wounded pretty quick --- took a big chunk out of his leg --- but they both survived the war.

Yo, Ra mey, Study the history of my father's 753rd Tank Battalion in WWII. They were fighting the Nazis in North Africa, Sicily, San Pietro, Monte Cassino, and France long before Mutt's dad starting bombing women and children at the very end of the WWII. The 753rd ended the war by driving from the Rhine (near Koblenz) across Germany to Austria, on a southeastern vector, then ended the war by looping back into Bavaria from the Salzburg area. Some of the photos on the 753rd's website were obtained from my family.
