congratulations lebron james. congratulations to the las angeles lakers. i can't think of a more deserving franchise to get such a quality star player. a long suffering franchise like the lakers deserves to have the best player in the league on their team for the 1000th time in the history of the NBA.
sarcasm is over now.
fu** you lebron james. you just signed with lakers and now maybe you're on the 4th best team in the west. you days of going to the nba finals are OVER. but it's cool. you get to live the LA lifestyle now. you care more about your dumb selfish brand and ability to eat lunch with celebrities than you do about winning championships. this decision will be a stain on your legacy. you are not a true competitor like some of the other greats. have fun losing in the 2nd round the next few years.
the 76ers path to the NBA finals will be without lebron james. they are still on track. embiid is a top 5 NBA player. ben simmons is going to be an elite player. markelle fultz is going to develop in a star. that is a hell of a core. they won 52 games this past season w/o fultz. there are still big time players available to compliment this trio. kawhi leonard (although i'll likely have a nasty post about him shortly)? durant is a free agent next year. so is klay thompson (who would be an insanely perfect fit with the current sixers roster).

I've been a Celtics fan since forever, but I've also had a soft spot for the home state Cavs. I've despised LBJ since he said "f you Ohio" and split for Miami. I still despised him when he came back to Cleveland, and now that he's saying "f you Ohio" again, I despise him all the more, and going to the hated Lakers gives me yet another reason to despise him. So I'm with you in saying fu** you LeBron.

Hint: Klay Thompson was raised in SoCal. His father was a Showtime Laker and is a current radio announcer for the team. He is friends with Luke Walton, who coached him at GS.

Should, eventually, be a great rivalry going forward out here in the West between Golden State and the new Lakers.
I was a Celtics fan in the Larry Bird era, when I lived in Boston but, to be honest, I couldn't even name a single player for the Celts nowadays.
I stopped watching NBA basketball entirely the year that Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, and J.R. Smith all left Denver-- after losing 4-2 to the Lakers in the NBA Western finals.
The NFL has a better salary cap structure than the NBA for helping smaller cities/media markets hold on to their "franchise" players. The NBA draft lottery is also deeply flawed. There would be more parity in the NBA if teams were able to draft in the inverse order of their W-L, as in the NFL. The highest draft pick the Denver Nuggets have had in years was Carmelo at #3-- the year that Cleveland drafted LeBron at #1.
Yet, under free agency, Cleveland and Denver both lost their "franchise" players within a few years.

Just what I figured. Was there ever any realdoubt he would end up in LA? I doubt LaCump can strong arm Magic and The Buss's like he did the Cavs organization

But the way the NBA draft lottery is run, I have often seen upper echelon teams mysteriously end up with the top draft picks-- like the Celtics drafting Len Bias at #1. Nor do I remember the Nuggets EVER having the #1 NBA pick in recent history-- however lousy their W-L. The Nuggets didn't even make the playoffs this year, but they still ended up with the 14th pick in the NBA draft.
