Fun thought for the day.
Trump tweeted: "This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics -- and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!"
Think about that for a minute.
He tweets about a meeting that he claims was "totally legal and done all the time"...and then he goes out of his way to make sure we know that he most definitely did NOT know anything about a totally legal meeting done all the time.
If it ain't illegal, why would you care if we think you attended?

...Like Trump Towers being "bugged," It is what he has said all along, and if 'some people' won't give him credit for anything else, at least he is consistent... Consistent? Trump on the June 2016 Tower meeting?  That's the funniest joke I've heard this week. Trump has given so many conflicting accounts of this meeting that it's hard to keep track of them. His latest Tweet seems to encompass all of his self-contradictory nonsense in just three idiotic sentences. As for his, "It went nowhere" defense-- imagine a bank robber saying, "Your honor, I pulled a gun on the teller and demanded money, but it went nowhere. She didn't have any cash." |

With all that has been said and done, this might elicit a big giggle maybe iyo but in his eyes, perception. Can't think of another reason. If I was single and in the running for a leadership role, even though prostitution is legal in Panama and I'm not married, I'm not sure, I'd want to admit I had shopped at the Y, while checking on my bank accounts there. Oh wait, I don't want that known either. So, "I did not know about it" is roughly equivalent to, "I never had sex with that woman...[fill in your favorite presidential concubine].", which is to say, very likely yet another baldfaced lie.
Or maybe his meaning was "he didn't know about it when it occurred". When you are looking for something on someone, one way or the other you can always figure out a way to make it look like you are in the right. It's called politics. |

Or maybe his meaning was "he didn't know about it when it occurred". When you are looking for something on someone, one way or the other you can always figure out a way to make it look like you are in the right. It's called politics. Pretty tough to claim you did not know when the day before the meeting you give a speech bragging that you will have "a major announcement" about Hillary dirt the following Tuesday, and then when the meeting turns out to be a bust...no more major announcement about Hillary dirt... One would need to be blind not to see what is going on here. |
