There is a line at the end of one of the many conservative C&P posts, that liberals oppose, "...Trump and everything he stands for." That begs the question: What qualities and ideas does Trump "stand for" that he has thus far exhibited as POTUS?

There is a line at the end of one of the many conservative C&P posts, that liberals oppose, "...Trump and everything he stands for." That begs the question: What qualities and ideas does Trump "stand for" that he has thus far exhibited as POTUS? What does Trump stand for? That's easy.
We can haggle over Trump's warts all day long, but that isn't the intent o the question. So let me refine it. The quote that got me thinking about this was a line written by some guy that liberals were trying to destroy "Trump and everything he stands for". I'm curious what his supporters think that is. Unless you think his supporters voted for Trump so that he could increase his own wealth and cut sweet deals for his friends at his voters' expense, there must be other reasons. Even if that is happening, but I'm guessin' I'd be safe in saying that wasn't the reason folks voted for him.
What qualities and ideas do those who support Trump THINK he "stands for".

Interesting Q that, because I didn't vote for him, I can't answer. Perhaps those who did vote for him can answer. Mike voted for him, in the primary, I'm guessing, essentially because he wasn't Hillary. Perhaps not. But vote for him he did and he can't run from that. BUT HIS vote for Trump does lead to a Q I can't answer. How many people voted for Trump because he wasn't Hillary? And by extension, if you don't believe in what Trump has done to this point is positive, do you blame the Dem's who offered Hillary as their banner holder?

And it worked.

Again, not what this thread is about. Note the question is in the present tense. Was responding to Daleko's post. As for what does Trump stand for? Policy wise, I'd say his 3 main interests are immigration, the military and the economy.

Horseshit. You posted accusations not backed up by links. That is a violation of TOS. If you can't do it, it will be deleted. Bull. What "accusations?" And why did you delete my reference link? I have been recognized for decades by U.S. courts, medical boards, the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, etc., as a psychiatric expert. I gave a very precise, accurate answer to your question about what Trump "stands for." Trump is a sociopath, and I posted a link to the historical evidence. Post links to the accusations. Pretty simple.

Post links to the accusations. Pretty simple. Are you talking about my original spot on answer to your question about what Trump "stands for?" Trump stands for self-aggrandizement. He's an extreme narcissistic personality, and a sociopath with no moral compass. I can post links to the psychiatric evidence, (and I did, regarding my Trump History Quiz) but it would be analogous to me asking you to post a link about some basic architectural claim that you made. ? So all that is just your personal opinion.

Thank you, Walter, for finally doing the right thing here.
I think it's less what Trump stands FOR, as what he stands against. In his campaign, and since his election, Donald Trump had called out the status quo and irritated both Republicans and Democrats. More than anything else, that is what attracted the average Joe to vote for him. As president he has done some things to benefit most Americans, and a few things that have benefited the wealthy more than the middle class. Whether his overall performance will bring those that voted him in back to the polls in 2020, we will see. Unless the Democrats sweep both Houses of Congress in November, these mid-term elections will have little bearing on what he does in the next two years.

Trump's 2016 candidacy was predicated on marketing research by Roger Stone, Sam Nunberg, and Mercer's Cambridge Analytica.
The strategy was to appeal to white resentment and xenophobia -- bashing immigrants and minority groups, building a Wall to keep out Mexican "rapists," etc.
As Axelrod said, Trump was running as the antithesis of Obama-- the Anti-Obama.
As for his policies in office, the consistent determinant has been payback-- enriching Trump and his Robber Baron donors. It's obvious.
1) Demolition of environmental protection on behalf of fossil fuel moguls.
2) Deregulation of banking and business fraud oversight
3) Massive tax cuts for the 1 per cent
4) Demolishing affordable healthcare for the working class
5) Diverting funds from public education to Voucher schools
