Good advice for Donald Trump. He hates anyone who openly disagrees with his stupid sh*t.
Not a formula for effective governance, as we see on a daily basis.
I remember reading Paul O'Neill's memoir, The Price of Loyalty, in (?) 2004 or 2005.
One of the things that O'Neill mentioned is that Nixon used to preside over Cabinet meetings in which his staff would disagree and openly debate complex policy issues, in the process of arriving at decisions about foreign and domestic policies.
In contrast, Dubya Bush's Cabinet didn't openly debate anything. Policy decisions were made behind closed doors by a small circle of politicos, usually run by Cheney, then presented to the Cabinet.
Then we get to Trump, where the rare Cabinet meetings consist of the tongue-tied Secretaries taking turns complimenting Trump for his terrific wonderfulness.
