You can control the level of tartness...

It is also a lot cheaper

I’ve used this recipe for several batches now. The Bermioli Rocco Fido jars make it extremely easy.

   I like Claussen brand-- in the refrigerated jars at the store.  I use it mainly with Russian dressing to make grilled Reuben sandwiches (with corned beef and Swiss on rye.)

   Claussen also sells very good dill pickles.

gives me the shits..........takes quite a while to restore my normal gut flora. anything with vinegar gives me the shits

she doesn't use that.........actually, it kills the natural flora allowing bad flora to grow unimpeded. AKA Skunk!!!!!!!!!!
