     Colorado elected a new governor this week-- Boulder Congressman Jared Polis (D-Colorado.)

     The election made national headlines, because Polis is the first openly gay man in American history to be elected as a state governor.

     I'm proud of my state for being progressive, educated, and open-minded, and for doing the right thing.

     I felt the same way when Colorado voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, and for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Maybe some didn't think it important. "The guy is gay, <shrug>". I thought that's what you might want. I guess you'd rather not see a "shrug". You just gotta make a scene rather than quiet acceptance of reality. Gays can be elected Gov. And elicit a "shrug".

Huh?  You're the guy who tried to invalidate my thread here about Jared Polis being the first "openly" gay male ever elected as a U.S. state governor.

Can you post some documentation to support your claim that Polis is NOT the first such "openly" gay male?

The lack of a reference speaks to my point. Big Jim, who it was said would embarrass LBJ in both size and girth, was gay and no one cared. Yet everyone knew. Just because he wasn't a flamer doesn't mean anything. Are you suggesting one has to trollop down the aisle, or even be one, to make a point?
