I started rewatching Band of Brothers a few weeks ago. The next episode is Bastogne, but probably won't get to it till after the Holidays.
Dale, you were trained for it, how do you think you would have done in Bastogne around Christmas '44?
Edit: I would have died, rapidly.

I started rewatching Band of Brothers a few weeks ago. The next episode is Bastogne, but probably won't get to it till after the Holidays. Dale, you were trained for it, how do you think you would have done in Bastogne around Christmas '44? Edit: I would have died, rapidly. The ODDS say, I'd have been a casualty...and of course, it was that long ago, and the training those troops received is nothing like what even Basic Training is today, let alone Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Add to that the problems of resupply for Infantry (along with the 28th ID, the 101 AB is Infantry once they exit the aircraft). Of course, being American always has an advantage...but those guys did a hell of a job defending against advancing armor units.
