Cast iron is the only way to go.
We have a bunch of cast iron skillets some with 50 years of seasoning, a dutch oven and a stove-top griddle.

It isn't something I'd make a lot if I wanted to be able to fit inside my jeans, but yeah...sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! It isn't something I'd make a lot if I wanted to be able to fit inside my jeans, but yeah...sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I have a few cast iron pans, but I confess I hardly ever use them. We use a 60 year old, thick glass top, skillet to do big Sunday supper 7-bone pot roasts in the oven, fried chicken, gravy, etc. (passed down from my mom), large size dutch oven to do corned beef and cabbage, certain soups and chilis, etc. and a Lodge 2-sided griddle to to do pancakes, french toast, sausage, etc. Goes right on top of two gas stove burners. Plus a top of the line Cuisinart panini machine with cast iron griddles for oh so delish panini sandos.... I'm starting to get a hint of fatness and need to hit the treadmill... |
