That final foul call WAS a foul, but one that would be overlooked 90% of the time.

The missed 2X dribble was worse. The last one was a foul rarely called.

Virginia went scoreless for 4 minutes+ at the end and still won....smh

Auburn was up 65-62 over Florida in the SECT. Gators PG Andrew Nembhard advanced the ball up court with seconds to play. Bruce Pearl told his team to foul before crossing half court and put Nembhard on the line for 2 free throws. The Tigers didn't foul until Nembhard was across half court and had started his 3 point attempt to tie the game. Three Tiger converged on Nembhard and mugged him during his shot attempt. Instead of putting Nembhard on the line for 3 free throws, the officials swallowed their whistles and the Gators lost by 3. I was pissed to the max that Florida was denied the chance to go to overtime. Bruce Pearl said after the game that it was a foul and that his players didn't follow his instructions.

Fast forward to Auburn vs. Virginia. I have zero sympathy for Auburn. I didn't watch the game and I don't care if it was a foul or not. What goes around comes around. I'm glad Auburn lost in that fashion giving up 3 free throws to lose the game. Karma is a bitch.

know this is late... I agree that it was 100% a foul but I disagree that it's not called 90% of the time. officials have a point of emphasis on allowing jump shooters to land without defenders taking their legs out, as long as the shooter is in natural jumping/landing motion (as opposed to michael jordan's legendary kicking out of his leg so it would get hit and called). ultimate pressure on that kid making all 3 free throws, too.
