Loved to watch him and the Celtics play back in the day. Always liked the way he kept moving and running, tried to do the same when I played. Hell, if I were 6" taller, he and I would have been teammates in the NBA.

in his days, top pro players certainly made good money, but not the out of this world contracts of today. I read that havlicek was an early investor in wendy's here in town. he still did speaking engagements and plenty of charity work, but he never had to work a regular job after his hoops career ended. well-rounded talent off the court as well as on...
