I make damn good Fettucini Alfredo. No packages used except the one holding the dry fettucine noodles.

I heat butter, cream, and dry white cooking wine in a large sauce pan, then stir in the drained, cooked (al dente!) fettucine and add parmesano, salt, pepper, minced fresh parsley, and a pinch of nutmeg -- stirring to achieve desired consistency while adding the parmesano. It's killer diller.

As good as a fresh made white sauce is I try not to eat it very often. If I'm going to die from clogged arteries I'd prefer it to be from bacon.
