I remember when everybody wore their Sunday best when flying. People were very polite and considerate. I flew on Connies and a DC-6 as a little kid way back when.
Now our culture is pure trash for the most part.

I dress comfortably when flying anywhere, bring a book to read, and headphones. I also slip a snack or two in my pockets. Stale peanuts. Ugh.

That is back when flying was new and something out of the ordinary.
You are claiming that the culture has collapsed because folks don't dress up to take the equivalent of a Greyhound bus ride somewhere and I do not recall folks putting their Sunday best to take a bus.

Good thing for the most part Maine air smells better........especially the further inland you go. 'cept maybe in cow country.

In August 1964, I took a Trailways bus from Alabama to Athens, Ga. Seven hours with stops in towns all along the way. I got off the bus at about 6pm and lugged two huge suitcases across campus. I found out the office was closed and I had no where to sleep until the next day. A couple of football players saw me and took me to the football complex and found an empty bed for me and some food from their rooms for me to eat.
