Just curious...if you're comfortable stating it publicly, which side do you favor?

Just curious...if you're comfortable stating it publicly, which side do you favor? I was in favor of the proposal that kept the denomination together, eliminating the current language forbidding gay ministers (which represents a small minority of clergy in the umc), same sex marriage and the discriminatory (imho) policies toward toward the gay community, which was favored by a significant majority of the american attendees at the last global conference. the non-domestic attendees at that conference were overwhelmingly against the plan, and in favor of tightening policies further. the umc doctrine states that every human is sacred, and I agree with that belief, but the policies don't match that belief, again imho. the bible includes many many social norms at the time of its writing that we know today to be untrue, especially how women were seen as less than men, less than livestock. we are all equal in god's eyes, and sexual preference is neither a crime nor should it be a sign that you have less capacity to be a christian, or to be a leader in the faith.

Understood. Thanks.
