kaz picked 68, mickey 72. if the total ends up being 70 and the 2 tie in total games correct, we will simply have co-champs. I didn’t designate a price is right-like whoever is closest w/o going over rule and I’m not going to do so after the fact. good luck guys.

you really thinking that clemson takes 'em 42-30? I'm thinking LSU 48 Clemson 24I'm thinking you might have it pretty close. But I'm ALSO thinking ---- 1 rushing TD for Lawrence, 1 for Etienne (gotta show the Louisiana boy a little home state lovin'), 1 TD catch for Higgins, and maybe 1 more TD scored by one of their non-stars. I'll give the fake Tigers 31 points, and the REAL Bengal Tigers 48, like you say. Or maybe in the 4th quarter Orgeron will put Myles in to engineer a final LSU TD drive to make it LSU 55 --- Clemson 31. It won't hurt to give the heir apparent a little taste of quarterbacking the winning team for their final score in their National Championship victory.
If LSU is in the position and circumstance to simply run out the clock, if I were Orgeron, I would find my least experienced O linemen, TE's, WR's and RB's, and put them in victory formation for that final kneeldown that ends the game. He will NOT RUTS on a team that played hard and never quit. Only ONE SEC coach pulls that bullshit. I would be rewarding those kids who didn't play as much, but practiced just as hard and intensely as the headlinemakers do.
Yes, just as I expect LSU to win the game, I also expect Clemson to fight hard and give them a good fight. At some point, Clemson will recognize that they are overmatched, and will have to start resorting to trick plays, like a throwback pass to the QB. We've seen that one before, and no doubt Dave Aranda has, too. Trickery is not going to win the game. Not for either team.
It will come down to the basics, who throws and catches better, who runs the ball better, and who can stop the other team's offense better. It will be the team on defense that tackles better, stopping a receiver in his tracks, stopping a RB after a 2 yard gain, pressuring the passer on every play, and even sacking him a few times. It will come down to which QB is more easily rattled. Trevor Lawrence is a superb college level QB,......... BUT Joe Burrow is a superb NFL level QB --- already. His game savvy, poise, confidence, defense recognition, play-success percentages, and total trust in the 10 other guys out there with him is what makes LSU ALMOST unstoppable. They will falter a few times and have to settle for a FG here and there, but they KNOW they can outscore any team they face.
NOBODY stops LSU's offense, and Clemson hasn't played a whole defensive backfield that is LOADED at every position with NFL-caliber players like LSU has. They haven't faced anything like LSU's D line and LB's. Ohio State did a good job, but not nearly good enough. Even though I guess technically they ARE tricks, the D line stunts that LSU has will have Clemson blockers fighting air. I still don't understand why college D coaches don't teach their linemen and linebackers a few basic martial-arts arm blocks that will prevent or defeat on O lineman from grabbing them and holding.
A final score of LSU 55, Clemson 31 will make it clear who the better team is, but it will also be chivalrous enough to let them escape New Orleans with most of their dignity still intact. That's still a 24 point margin though, isn't it? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm .............. I need to rethink that. I guess we'd better get the referees to throw a few phantom penalties on LSU so that Clemson can score again and leave town as only 55-38 losers. Yep, yep. That would be OK.
Donald Trump will be there, so they can blame the loss on HIM. YEAH!!! That's the ticket!
It's TRUMP'S FAULT!!

don't see it that high. but I think it's going to be a close game. tigers cover, but tigers win. lsu 31, clemson 28. I think dabo will try real hard to play defense w/his offense, to keep burrow off the field, via the run game. a high scoring game... clemson can't win that. lsu has been too good getting huge chunks of yards downfield passing. vs tosu lawrence didn't run wild, but he ran enough... getting a big 60+ yd td and a first down in their game winning td drive. that sets up etienne to have a better game on the ground than he had vs the bucks. they'll also need to control the ball and the clock because clemson's d this year is not what it was vs alabama a year ago. tosu had drives of 71, 68, 75, 70, 52, 84, 50 and 52 yards in the fiesta bowl. lsu's run game isn't better than the buckeyes, but their pass game has been dynamic in every game but 1 this season. you have to do all you can to keep them off the field. on the lsu side, to me their key is big plays. get them and they win. if clemson can keep the explosive (20 yd+) plays to a minimum, force lsu to work their way downfield on offense, to me that keeps cu in the game. still think lsu will steal it in the end, but clemson's guys have been in this situation, this environment, with this much on the line, before. lsu, even though they'll be in front of a raucous home crowd, hasn't. the longer the game stays close, the more clemson will feel they have an advantage. should be a fun game to watch.
