they'll also need to control the ball and the clock because clemson's d this year is not what it was vs alabama a year ago. tosu had drives of 71, 68, 75, 70, 52, 84, 50 and 52 yards in the fiesta bowl. Is your comment about the defense from last year to this year attributed to what Ohio State did against it? If so, that's a little unfair since Ohio State had one of the best offenses in the country. Statistically, Clemson's defense is better this year however the opposition hasn't been as good. I think there are still some unknowns about them but I wouldn't bet against them being the defensive team that can slow down LSU. They are still very, very good.

I think there are still some unknowns about them but I wouldn't bet against them being the defensive team that can slow down LSU. They are still very, very good. 1. tosu was, imho, the most effectively balanced offense in the country. clemson's pedigree on defense arose when the bucks got into the red zone. there were self-induced issues, for sure, but the tigers made it tougher once we got close, which is why... 2. to me, the key for lsu is the big plays. with the bayou bengals not being quite as good a running team as the buckeyes are, the red zone obviously compresses the defense and the passing lanes. tosu had 8 50+ yard drives and still only scored 23 points. I have lsu scoring 31 pts... that would be the 2nd lowest total for them this season. I'm totally giving clemson's d credit. 3. if this is a one score game going into the 4th qtr, I think clemson will have an edge based on their playoff experience. 4. in the cfb playoff era, sec teams are 2-3 su/1-4 ats in title games. fwiw.

Stay out of casinos___ LOL, I usually do unless I am with my wife who likes to roulette. Nice pick, though. I didn't see any way that the Clemson offense would struggle like that but give credit to the LSU front 7 for making things tough on Lawrence, who had a rough night.
